Well, it's illegal to not have plates, but there is no fine for not having them. Way to go Texas! http://www.statesman.com/news/texas...ke-jeopardizes-license-plate-law-1971446.html
Don't know about plates but you damned sure better not be in the Rio Grande valley of you liscense plate light is burnt out. Hey I learned a new one the other day, MO fine for not wearing a motor cycle helmet is 25 dollars, but it is 250 if you are wearing an unapproved helmet.
Just read the article....I was hoping it'd say that we only need a rear one! I HATE the look of a license plate on the front of my cars. My wife got pulled over three times within a month and made me put her plate on her Yukon hahaha.
Road Farmer I been getting away without a front plate as long as I have been driving. I have been questioned and or lectured about them on several occaisions. hey do they still have front and rear specific truck plates in Texas?
antique plates = 1 plate for the rear. will switch to a set of 1951 original yellow texas plates i've had sitting in my garage sometime in december.
Not on the new plates. I think the front/rear specific plates were from a long time ago. I don't have one on my o/t daily, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time till I get a ticket. I thought about getting one of those electric flip down actuators for my plate, but not worth the effort or money
I was in texas in the '80s. I asked a county mounty about it and he said it was so you couldn't give your front plate to someone to run on their truck. Probably cost too much to keep up.
