All I ask is that you give a donation of $25 or more to the
    Michiana Humane Society
    722 US Hwy 212
    Michigan City IN
    46360

    Thanks and enjoy

My way of giving back to the HAMB and supporting our less fortunate four legged friends.

how about recycling them? take the money you get from that and donate that, better than just putting them in the trash.

The Michiana Humane Society is the only "no kill" shelter in LaPorte County.

    The wheels are free.

Whether or not the recipiant actually makes the donation is entirely up to them.
I don't require any proof. Strictly on the honor system.

if the buyer pays, then it is not free.

do you work for the government? maybe ebay? they always have free stuff that costs money.

Gov't? That's backwards. They take things that are free- and then charge you for it.

Wish I was local, I'd be all over this.

What's wrong with you guys? Alex is offering some free wheels and you give a bunch of smart *** comments saying they aren't free, if you don't want them then don't post stuff just to cause an argument! Free speech blah blah blah I understand that but it's just annoying and not what this place is about.

Well, as an animal lover I would like to thank you for doing this. How someone can fault you for giving something for free and only ask that a small donation be made to a very good cause is way beyond me.

We also support about 8-10 stray cats that live in the area where our shop is located and every night we go and feed them. They have become so used to us doing this that they now come into the shop when we are there and play with the toys we put out. They seem to want to be around people and I feel so sorry for the lives they lead, living in the wild.

If I lived in your area I would take you up on your wheel deal and gladly make the donation to your no kill refuge. Thanks for thinking beyond yourself. Here are some pix of a few of our nightly visitors.

    Don

Tim, that is a great idea. My check to them will be going out today too.:) I'll donate in Alex' name also. These no kill shelters do such a terrific job, I hate to think about the dogs and cats that are put down at the humane society every week.

Thanks everyone for the positive responses.

No cause here, just happened to be enjoying a nice evening last night with Beth and our two pups and thought how fortunate we were to have each other.

    Remember,
dogs will even love and remain loyal to the biggest JERKS, STROKES and LOSERS.

Great idea, we'll just let the ones that are already out there starve to death, that will take care of the little *******s !

    Everybody is an expert.

    Don

BTW, see the cage in this picture, it is so we can trap the strays and a local shelter spays and neuters them at no charge..........so there, ****a !! :p

Pete, there are lots to choose from at the shelters, and you will be saving a little life. :) I'd be like the crazy cat lady if I could, I would take in every one out there, but we have two at home and you can only save so many of them. That's why we feed the ones that come around our shop every night.

  26. I can't believe some of the comments from the jackballs on this site. If you don't like the subject matter of the thread, just move on. I see threads all time that either don't agree with or could care less about, and I stay away.

Kudos to you for caring about our furry friends. Shelter over-population is a serious matter, and the no-kill shelters are very expensive to run.

All I know is that everyday whenever I come home and hit the garage door opener, my Pug is the first one to greet me, tail wagging. I could be having the worst day in the world and he doesn't care, he's just happy to see me. Pets are great.

I'd bet Don doesn't have a mouse problem at his shop. He probably even gets a gift mouse once in a while.

The smartest and best dog my mom has had in the last 25 years was a stray dog that showed up and hid her pups under the shed.
She was probably 15 years old when this photo was taken in 2007
    [IMG]
She did duty as the outside dog that guarded the place for years and then kept track of the little yapper dogs when she got to move in the house when she was older.

Funny you should mention that, Mr48. We used to have mice and sometimes rats running around and even found a small snake in our shop bathroom one time. Since the stray cats have been hanging around there you never see anything like that anymore. They are supreme hunters. :D We also have ra****s that show up at dinner time and the cats and ****s eat out of the same dish........I guess they get used to each other living in the outdoors.

I am just hoping half the people whining about somebody offering something for free in this thread don't breed.
