The hood needs something on it, without it looks like Carl Malden's nose. Looks like the Kaiser and Frazer shared bodies in 49/50. So when lookig for parts you ca probably include Frazer in your key words for the search. http://www.fiftiesweb.com/cars/kaiser-frazer.htm Frazer had different grill bumpers and trim but look much the same stamping for the rest of the body. Enigine parts should be easy as they used continental engines through the end of their manufacturing, as did I think, willys for 6 cylinder Jeeps and Aeros. The displacement was 223 cu inches.
I tried some skirts on the back that resemble the Kaiser factory parts, which helps break up the slab sidedness a bit. If this is the only one in Italy - how are they going to know if it´s a Kustom or not?
Thank you! I like it. James D you're the best!!! If I can do it with the laws of my country will be made.... Sorry better not talk...
WOW,... Our family owned a 58 Kaiser in the early 50's....There were a lot of them around the Buffalo N.Y. area then. I sure do like the "Merc Style" custom !!!!!!!!!!! 4TTRUK

2 nuts........ If I want I have a big block v8 CHevy/GMC 454 unused in my garage. This also gave me free....
While looking for a suitable 1947 Kaiser side view to digitally alter, I came across this 1951 Frazer Manhattan convertible. It was designer Brooks Stevens' personal transport. Check out the front and rear fenders and taillights - looks very custom, but are stock '51 Frazer (even the plain-jane sedans had 'em). And those wire wheels - oooh, baby! Now the interesting thing is that the body tub A-pillar to trunk is the very same as the 1949 Kaiser... Hell of a restyle on the old girl, no?
Hell of a thing! What I noticed on these is how unusually far back the rear axle is on the body. Those vertical door shuts on the rear doors give it away and it´s kind of hard to hide. Hence my idea with the skirts, to trick the eye.
In Holland were this car is build (Rotterdam /Nekaf factory) they are really rare. I think less than 10 survived the Dutch rainy climate. About 10 years ago i was offered a 1948 ? Traveller with an opening rear tailgate I didn't buy it because same as in Italy parts are not available. Your car is a nice project BTW.
I did not know Brooks Stevens Kaiser... yes, the look it's very custom I am confused because it's rare here but if I do custom James D design is perfect, awesome! I was thinking of something like that, the solution of the skirts is valid! Dutch Deuce I thought they were more in the netherlands,my car is from your country. I have photos of Kaiser restoration maybe in Holland, I don't know who did it, have been given together with the documents of the car. Scan tomorrow...... My before engine remove
These are not photos of my car. They gave me with the documents, I don't know who did (maybe from Holland) : Stock Kaiser chassis Flathead 6
Legend, you are right, that Kaiser truck at Posies is one beautiful car. I stopped there to pick up my springs and he showed it to me. Story I got was that is was originally commissioned by Earl Muntz of the Muntz Jet fame. Looking at your link seems to confirm that. Pictures on their website do not do it justice. Those late 40's, early 50's Kasier dashes were things of beauty -Fryguy
Take a look through the Custom Kaiser Drag'n thread. The bar has been set with this one and you get defintiely get some good clues and ideas from this beautiful Kaiser http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=272171&highlight=custom+kaiser
The same.... old work in progress : front Kaiser pick up : http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2011/10/19/kaiserkamino/
I started to study the cut, I have some ideas.... In your opinion what should be cut the roof to get a proper shape similar to James D drawing or best chop? If someone wants to recommend is welcome...
the question is whether you are going to be sealing the rear doors and making the front ones bigger, I guess
