    Except those are Nash hubcaps...

  2. Cool Page... I'm trying to locate a photo of the original Miller High Life girls from 1934.

I dated a girl who's Grandmother was one of the originals and they all had to make their own costumes based on promotional drawings!

What an era... if you wanted a job as a brewery model you had to exhibit how handy you were with the sewing needle!

  3. hmm , i wonder what would of been the acceptable main course on thanksgiving if benjamin franklin and few others had thier way and had named the turkey as our national bird......

I was wondering what those were! I thought some kind of rails.but the may be aeriels.

  22. On the larger picture of the church and the yard, most of those barrels turn out to be bushel baskets, mostly full of glass bottles. Never have seen antenna like that, but thay may be for a business radio, since they're parked next to a large storage tank of come kind.

  23. The guy appears to be Rondo Hatton of horror movie fame.

    From briansdriveintheatre.com; http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/dead3.html

Rondo Hatton spent his formative years in Tampa, Florida. Upon graduating from high school, Hatton entered the military and eventually fought in World War I. He was gassed in 1917 and was given a medical discharge. His health ravaged, Hatton returned to Tampa and found work as a newspaper reporter. Tragically, the poison gas triggered a pituitary gland disease termed "acromegaly," which began to horribly disfigure Hatton. He was spotted for films in the mid 1930s, and soon Hatton and his wife left for Hollywood. By the early 1940s, Hatton was finding regular work in Universal horror films such as The Spider Woman Strikes Back and The Pearl of Death. But Hatton's disease was also progessing, and he passed away in early 1946 at the age of 51.

According to IMDB, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0369061/ he was in 22 movies.

The twin aerials on the sedan are like the early ones that mounted under the running board, an alternative to the island top chicken wire. Looking at the one on the Dodge I'm guessing this is from a short period before telescopic ones appeared.

  25. Yeah, especially since eagle tastes just like spotted owl!

I saw that place on the travel channel not too long ago. I think it was a show about diners or something like that.

I thought the bottles were from a bottle drive possibly for war effort or maybe to fix the crack in the wall on the church.

Was it restored and open for business?

Seems like it was in nice complete condition when boarded up.
