This looks like a car from up my way(snow and all)...there was a 40 standard coupe that sat out side a guy's house several years ago with a couple of tarps like those draped over it. One day it was gone, and the home's new owner said the guy and car moved north of the twin cities (more snow). You know how the news of a Willys find travels...well this one must still be out there, because we've heard nothing in this area about a new find in years. Where was the one in the picture from, as it does look much like the one from around here?

Its back in e-bay........and no title!

I wish a knowledgeable Willys guy would check this car out, I wish I could but too far for me to look at!

1942 Willys Panel Delivery 1/2 ton suspension, original engine and running gear - original 442 serial number engine. Unbelievable survivor. The interior is mostly wood in the back, with a wooden floor and is all original. There is only one area of dry-rot in the passenger door frame at the bottom. This Willys has a very small bit of rust in the body in a few places, however is unbelievably solid for it's age. The craftsmanship is incredible, throughout. The frame has no rust issues.

Have seen only one other like this (was a 1941 Willys Panel) that was converted into dragster. Has been reviewed by a Hemmings agent and is believed to be an original vehicle and the only one made for delivery in 1942. The vehicle was apparently exported to Argentina in early 1942, prior to, or just as USA engagement occurred in WWII. The vehicle was returned to the USA about 6 years ago. There is quite a bit of Argentinian documentation to go along with the vehicle.

My buddy just showed me pictures of this car as it sits now. It's burried in a ditch on someone's property in California. The property owner didn't even know it was there....

There's a '37 Willys sedan shell sitting in front of an antique store here in Yucca Valley - once bullet-perforated desert scrap, now yard art painted orange. My guess is someone pulled the chassis long ago to build either a glass-bodied sports car or a dune buggy.

Is there a possibility of getting a pic of the car in the ditch to add to this post?
