Features Who's Building a T?

As I said to someone the other day, I have a gow "pile", but I can't properly call it a "project" yet as there is no building going on yet. I'm accumulating mid-'20s to early-'30s period pieces to build a T based around my '26 Ford frame and '28 Chevy engine.

Thanks for sharing, Hackman. You've built a great looking car. I think the rake and ride height of your car is right on. It's nice to see an all-mopar drivetrain, too. And three pedals, too. I've heard great things about 833 4-speeds. If you don't mind my asking, what size wheels and tires are you running and what are your rear gears? Thanks for sharing the specs of your build with others.

The tire sizes in the pictures are 5.00x16 front and 7.00x16 rear Firestones on stock Ford 16 inch wheels. Currently the fronts are 4.50x16. Thanks again. Cool thread!

Im building a new blower engine for my T-coupe

 

This is the one that got me hooked. As legend has it, this car was built in thirty days in Charlie's home garage using a nice body acquired from the great Vernon McKeen. The car was built to be driven to Paso and got there without a hitch. At that time, it was as if they'd arrived from another planet. Almost no one was messing around with T's at the time, let alone leaving them unchopped. That was a decade or more ago. I think it's safe to say that Charlie was ahead of his time.

Were any fellow HAMBers at that Paso show to see Charlie's old tall T?

Not Paso, but I was at the Roundup when it first appeared with a still patina'ed body and I was pretty blown away. Definitely one that inspired me the hunt down a T coupe to build.

That thing looks wicked, Chaddilac. Would you be willing to share your specs with us fellow HAMBERS: Frame style, engine, trans, suspension, amount of chop/channel? What's the end plan for the paint, interior, wheels, etc.

I was at Mercury Charlie's today. His T is coming along nicely. Lots of tricks I'm not at liberty to share here. But this much I will say. There is one extremely badass Model T coming together in Austin, Texas. With a little luck, it'll be out at the Round-Up this year.

 

Just about done gathering parts. 26 Roadster.

 

I have sworn off T and A's once I complete the two I have (time to go with bigger rides) but if I found a nice T coupe, it might be the one to change my mind..

 

Listed on Autotrader Classics for $23,500! WAY over priced. 2.3 Ford with a 5 speed. Cool little car, but too much money.
