I got a message from the guy who bought it from dennis on facebook, he tagged some pics. looks like this thing is a total loss. suks, but what do you do when you drive cars like that in new york. Damn, I would have to move!
Hey doesnt he know a good Body Guy with a Bitchin set of tools??? Wow that sucks I didnt know it sold.
Ouch, That is the chance we take but although it is probably totaled $$$ wise unless there is damage beyond that side it should be repairable. The body repair shouldn't be that bad but matching the paint might be near impossible.
Why is it a total loss...because it needs a door? That car is FAR from a total loss unless theres something very wrong and not pictured.
It looks as if it could be fixed, if it needs a total respray, that's why you pay insurance especially if it's not the drivers fault? or was the other guy involved uninsured?????
unless there is something i cant see id have to say it isnt near a total.looks like a bump compared to what i was expecting to see.but it still makes me sick. damn i love that car too!! since the first day i saw it ive lusted after it.lolbad!! hell, i still do.somebody would be hurtin real bad today if that was my car and it wouldnt be me.
OH SHIT! That was one of my favorites you did, hate to see that, hope he or the other guys got some real good insurance!
Totaled?? Is the roof buckled? I've seen much worse fixed. Now what the insurance company wants to pay may be another issue....
I feel really bad for the guy who bought it, he is heart broke, what everyone can't see is , the chrome down the side was taken off and round rod and new metal formed an extended outwards more, and the rear wheelwell was totally changed and I guess there is damage to the front where the bus pushed it into the car infront of it. I don't have the whole story yet, The paint I can fix, anyone else not knowing what was done would be impossible.
So have it shipped to Kansas for a fix. If it was done once, it can be done again. And you only have to do one side.
wow... that was a great car, the body mods were amazing in person. I feel blessed that i got to ride shotgun for a few laps on a cruise night a couple of years ago... dang.
I always hear these stories about the car you built and spent so much time on... always get damaged or totaled by the guy you sold it to. Seems to be the reason so many people can't find cars they used to own.
Looks pretty bad, but if that one dude can save a car that's been through a fire, that can definitely be fixed.
Before I could call it a total loss i would have to have seen it before McFail built it. It is a mess for sure, sorry to see it bent like that.
That just makes me sick. I feel real bad for the guy that bought it. Hopefully the guys insurance will help the pain and Jeff can fix it back. Happy Trails, Mick
Yep, looks totaled, can I bid on the "hulk" lol JK, hard shot but compared to some I've seen on here a cakewalk to repair. Cheers
Damn, that sucks!!! I've had a few sleepless nights about that car. I came VERY close to pulling the trigger and buying it after I sold my '54 Vicky. I hope the new owner comes out OK on the Insurance settlement.
What the H-E-double hockeysticks was that bus driver smoking?!? I hope the owner is okay and the "totaled" is in reference to the insurance - not the ability to repair.. What a shame. -Dave
That's totalled? Because of the reworked wheel opening and fin? That work should have been accounted for in the value of the car if it's insured as a collector vehicle. I'd like to buy a total like that... Brian
