I'm looking around for a 1:1 right angle gear drive box so i can hide the electric windshield wiper motor in the roof of my step van and have a single rod connect down to the gear set. The other side would head out to the external wiper. you'd think that would be an easy gizmo to find but I'm not having much success. Anyone know of a reasonably priced gear drive box?

This Milwaukee right angle drive unit might work

But is a bit spendy at 80 clams

  2. What about the Lucas wiper motor? Used in Jag and other english cars. It has the motor that pushes and pulls a cable. The wiper motor can be mounted down in the kick panel area and run the cable up to the cowl area. Get the wiper transmissions that are part of and fit the cable.

And unlike a lot of Lucas stuff it actually works. No smoke involved. And easy to rebuild. Done the one in my Morris Minor: simplicity itself.
