Pics of www and steelies

I am looking to get wheels and tires for my 49 chevy fleetline and I do not know whether to get 15 or 16 inch steelies. Also I am not sure about the width of the whitewall. I was originally thinking about 15s all around and 3 inch wide whites. I would like to see some pics to get a better idea. Please send pics if you have any and give sizes of both wheel and whitewall. Thank you.

I have done search but did not find what i was looking for.

 

Stock is 15s.... go with a 6.70x15 tire and you're right on the money!!

Firestone 6.70x15 with 2 11/16 inch white wall, best looking tire on a early fifties Chevy in my mind.

You are probably right, but, show me a 49-52 Chevie (as the question is about) that doesn't look good wearing WW's

TB3 - I would run Coker radials in 195x75x15 these tires are narrow and will fit stock Chevy rims perfect. I think the white wall is 2 3/4 wide. You'll see these on by buddies car in the picture.

Hambers thank you for the feedback. Here is some more info to help me with this thread. I have a mII IFS with bags all around. A four link. There will be a well built 454 in it with a tko 600. I plan on having this be my daily driver. I plan on using radials. I have a lincoln Versailles rear end in it so I can have disc brakes all around. I want this car to be a blast and plan on beating on it occasionally. I plan on using a steelie that is wider than stock. I am mainly looking to see photos to see how the size of the whitewall make a different look. 15s w 3inch whitewall is what I was originally planning. I would like to see what 15s in the front and 16s in the back w 3inch whitewall would look like. I am not sure if anyone can help me with some pic of these combos but would appreciate any feedback. Here is a pic. I hope it uploads. I have some more of the build but havent got around to working on that thread. I plan on getting all the work done to make it a great driver. I do not plan on much body work. Thank you guys

Do you have a photobucket account? They're great for uploading and pasting on the web. Once uploaded you can use the "image" tag from the pic dropdown to load here...I just have to figure out how to load thumbnails to get smaller pics on here and save some bandwidth for the site.

BTW- I have WWWs on my 40 plymouth touring sedan...BF Goodrich Silvertowns 6.00 x 16s if you should want a pic I can post one here or you could check my profile for a side shot of the car with them..it's not a truck, but my old 99 gran voy as ***led as a plymouth truck{weird!}.

 

I attached a computer pic file from my folder using the "paper clip" drop down, next to the smiley face of the "post reply" window...should insert it just fine...let's see.
Thumb nailed it nicely I see..now to figure out how to do that with FB!

Here are a couple more and one when it was stock suspension. Any more pics of the steelie 15 and 16s and whitewall widths would help. Still looking for someone to show me 15s in the front and 16 in the back especially if you have a custom. also let me know whitewall size. I know some people change the sizes from front to back.

OK so I have just asked for some help from katatonic and whoever else can help with photoshopping my cars wheels and tires. I would like to see how the car looks with a 3inch www with black steelies and a navy blue steelie. The car is in the pictures above. Also, if anyone is good with photoshop can you do me a huge favor and let me see how it looks with one inch www and black and blue steelies. I know this maybe a lot but it may also be really easy to do if you know what you are doing. I am hoping the latter. Thank you Tim
