Wow,
and I thought I was crazy!
That curved door bottom looks good.
It takes some balls to do pretty good work,
than cut it out to make it right!
I bet you'll have fun making the frame,
actually being able to weld for an inch or two!

Heres the chassis with the kick up welded in

 

Next i had to bend the 4 pipe sections for the k frame and try and get them even.I cut a cardboard patern to the desired shape then set about with the pipe bender

 

I measured the distance the ram moved for each bend to get them the same

 

As i am getting old and forgetfull i wrote the measurements down

Wow man, what awesome work! You are going to have the nicest 38 getting around, please tell me those deluxe side curtains are there for the fun of it and you are going with the much better looking standard grille!!
I miss my old 38, its good to see such superb workmanship going into one.
My parents have my old one down in Victoria now......................

IA pic of it in the 90s at my sisters wedding, bit rough around the edges as it was my daily driver, lived outside on an Army base! The backs so jacked up as we had to take out the lowering blocks and never got a chance to put them back in.


And back in the early 70s getting put together.

Dont know if im building this right ,never built a chassis before.Welded the pipe frame in first and then boxed it

Incredible save! Don´t know how I missed this one.

Looking at it with the roof skin AWOL, makes me wonder if it wouldn´t look good as a roll top, like a big Topolino.

This is the lower rear suspension mount with a couple of holes to sweeten it up ,although they will probably never be seen

 

I used factory ford top arms from 90s Falcon

 

Well done Mitch, Incredible job and coming on great. Keeping a close eye on this thread.

 

I ordered a set of wheels for the car and new they were going to be a tight fit so i removed the inner guards and made new ones,along with new floor rails

 

Wow! amazing.

 

Made the trans tunnel,just made some cardboard templates and tacked them in.I spaced the floor off the chassis with plywood

 

And to make sure the tailshaft does not rub on the floor i removed the springs

 

Wow, that thing can go low!

Things have been stationary for a while ,ive been building my house.Got the floor pans done,because they are not parrallel on either side i used a straight edge down the centre and measured off either side.
