Remember when the little robot came out and shot whatever you were deleting with his laser in Quark? Old School for sure.

I still can't believe how many shirt printers still use corel?? Is that the whole industry or just the guy I use?

I had a printer last summer tell me Illustrator wasn't the correct program for designing business cards! So I stopped using her, since Illustrator was the World's leading design program and they didn't lead the printing world!

Agghh. You couldn't wait a couple years to let me hone my skills? I have all of those programs plus Corel Painter 12 and a couple others.. I'm getting a BFA and MFA in Printmaking but have a minor in Graphic Design. This would be a killer opportunity for me. :)

But then again, I'm seeing much more advanced levels of work from the others on here.. Far better than mine. Good luck to whoever gets the job!

I still use CasMate.... I think this probably predates anything mentioned. Works just as good as it did in '95

If I was single, I'd be on my way.

Nonsense! You want a gig in this field, get your book together, tailored to this client's needs and send it to the man! He's the only one qualified to judge who's right for HIS opening.

Ha, ha you guys are ALL newbies. Never mind the archaic design software mentioned, I've been doing graphic design since before the personal computer was invented.
Anyone ever worked on a CompuGraphic, used the wax machine, or done the spreads and chokes in the darkroom and then spent all night stripping negatives to prepare a blueline proof for each plate? No email, no fax machines....you DROVE down to the big city to show your client the proof in-person, drove back to the office, fixed it and then drove back to the client (over and over).

I remember those days cleatus. Stripping 4-color by hand using a loop and rubylith. Burning colorkeys for proofing. That was fun.

Yep. It used to take a whole room full of people a week to put together just one magazine. Now I have to layout multiple magazines, while also juggling brochures, illustrations, logos etc, etc. each & every week, all by myself. Ah....technology....so much easier ;)

Rubylith!! I still have half a package in the cabinet by my desk here. You guys remember the Nu-arc plate burners? The "auxiliary switch" to get the arc going (kicking it)! Color keys, CompuGraphic, waxers, process cameras, spreads & chokes..... Ahh, the good (bad?) old days. After working in Creative Suite on my 24" iMac, I'm not sure I'd want to go back.

I'd apply for that job, but it's a far commute from Indiana.

I hadn't seen this before. Wow i fit that job description fairly well. Except for the InDesign and Acrobat part. Those old programs I remember so fondly.
