Just a few pics from the Watson/Winfield get together. Pictures were taken by Jason Hawkins aka Twenty Gallons. Gene asked his Son in Law to park his black T Bird next to the Jade Idol. Pretty cool considering it's not a traditional Kustom.

But it was never that pretty until you got your hands on it. It did begin a lasting friendship that gets stronger every year. The pictures are kinda small. What happened to the White walls and hub caps?

We were there and will be back next year, that bird was really nice and so were all that were on display. "Windy's Used Cars" were a hit , such a deal we have ! The "Lugnut" took about a jillion pics. and should have them up shortly.

  9. It was kinda funny, a girl was taking a duster over the tbird and this little boy right behind her was going over the same spots with his hands, couldn't help but laugh.

A duster in the middle of the great Mojave ? I'll bet it got worn out ! One had to take a bit of desert snow and realize this the reality of Winfield. No bazillion dollar industrial park with limo tinted store fronts, no polished work shop floors with all the best machinery resting on it , no CNC ,lasers or even a DRO. No , this is pure Winfield. May it remain that way !

Thanks for the coverage James of the show, this has to be one of the must do shows in California. Hope to go maybe next year with the '52, trying to get ready for Santa Maria too don't know if I'll be finished.

Rumor has it that next years show will go back to a one day affair, probably on Saturday. Watch HAMB for an announcement in the future.

Yes, I talked with Gene Winfield, and he did say only one day, Saturday (I think) next year. Not enough sales on Sunday for the Auction. So everyone should support the show next year. This is a great way to get Kustom Kulture artwork from back East and locally on the cheap, and support some good charities.

I was perusing around Mojave near Gene's shop last Saturday and I came upon a 1948 Nash Wrecker. It was totally original. Hadn't been run in years. I didn't have my camera with me. :(
