  9. Check this out,

    http://www.scoutpluss.com/bored-stroked-392-ih-454-or/

I know Rod at Scoutpluss and Doug Cope, both good guys. I don't doubt Doug's capabilities he knows what he is doing.

There is also an aluminum aftermarket 4V intake manifold now available for the IH engines.

Stan's Headers in Auburn, WA. makes nice high quality headers for the IH, I put a set on my Travelette and bought another set for my 74 pickup.

Too bad it's not closer. On second thought I'm glad it's not closer.

  12. I saw this one in the mid 1980's in Nanaimo, B.C., I think it only had around 10,000 miles on it then. When we went to see it the new owner was installing a stereo... he had just drilled a lot of holes in the shape of a radio bezel in the radio delete dash then punched out the piece with a hammer. That was the worst installation I have ever seen.

Just got a 54(?) R-110 and a 454 to stuff in it. Can't wait to get started. I do have a question though, I have searched around quite a bit but can't really get a definite answer. Is the VIN on the older trucks the same as the scouts and stuff? Mines missing the door plate and I havent cleaned whats left of the motor to find any numbers on it. I still need to take off the front wheel to look at the frame for numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When I bought mine, the door plate was missing, too. All of the hardware was thrown in a bucket, though I didn't see it in there with a quick glance. However, I did find the numbers on the engine on the passenger side, which is the engine number, not the chassis umber or body number. My KB2 has the chassis number up front on the driver side, and that is what you may be referring to. I haven't looked there on mine yet. That being said, mine came with a title, so I do have the proper number to go with.

The frame numbers are located near where the steering box bolts to the frame. The title's use the numbers on the frame.

Here's my panel. Okay, it was my panel. I sold this a few years ago, had a chance to buy it back and couldn't afford it. It ended up with a guy in the Mid West and I'd like to have it back someday.
It was a project that I finished up. It ended up with a Ford 302, FMX slush-box. These have torsion bar suspension in the front so dropping it is really easy, had to trim the rubber snubbers a bit. It had 57 Chevy (Aztec)? copper paint on it. The gas filler originally came out on the passenger side front fender and not long after I had it on the road, the gas heated up and ran out over the nice new paint. I filled the hole and turned the neck so that you could fill it up from inside the wheel well (had to have the wheel turned to get the hose in there!
You could throw a party in the back of it.

I wouldn't mind finding an older travelall for the wife to drive.... she's an SUV yuppie, lol.
I had a '68 longbed stepside 4x4 once, too. I wish I still had it.

Got a 62 C100 truck, stepside that belonged to grandfather. We have kept it running over the years but I'm not a purist so we are about to start the process of subframing the front in favor of a GM subframe and drive train and power brakes. I will be keeping stock appearance, just want to be able to get engine/brake parts at any local store

Wished i woulda known about the left hand threads before I broke my 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. Oooops. It's all good. That's a good lookin' travelall by the way. Have any of you guys seen the travelall that had a bed for pullin a fifth wheel? Not a travelette but a unibody. I've seen a drawing in a sales brochre but not an actual truck.
