I ‘m not a professional photographer, but I’ve been struggling lately with the short shelf life of digital photography. I find the idea of posting photos online an hour after, or even during a show to be one of the modern world’s many benefits. That is truly a marvel of what the online community can do now. But something nags at me, something eats at me, when I think about how simple it has become. I wanted something tangible to hold in my hands and thumb through after this show. I wanted something that would take up shelf space, collect dust, and be forgotten about. I don’t want people to have to login or download my photos in order to enjoy them. This year I decided to make two sets of photos-one point and shoot digital, and one that MADE me slow down and enjoy what was coming through the lens. I used my trusty Cannon program and Kodak 400 BW (a pretty pedestrian setup) but then again-I’m not a professional as previously stated. If you haven’t seen the digital photos, here’s the link: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=651587. The “chemical” photos took a bit more time to process and have found their own shelf space on my bookcase.

Typically, when one of my shows is over I am totally relieved... When the Revo is over, I'm totally bummed. I have so much fun doing that deal.

Fabulous photos! You better date stamp them, otherwise they could be mistaken for the fifties!

Damn, well worth the wait! These are some kick ass shots.

They may not be 'professional' and that might be the best part about them. They have a wonderfully gritty, unplasticized character. But still with a nice style and sharp crispness to them. Very nice, I dig them. Thanks for sharing.

    These are great images.

Not to suck up to Ryan but I don't think there could ever be enough nice things said about his coupe. It's been like 4 years since it's been built and it still strikes a chord.

Lady and gentleman of the jury we have reached a verdict. We find this Hot Rod rod guilty of being Dangerously Cool.

    Yeah...

Beautiful images and totally appropriate for the subject matter. Having taught B/W Photography for forty years it makes me yearn for yesteryear! ....... Thanks!

Very well done! Should have yelled at me to get out of the background of one of the shots as the rest of it is awesome! Nicely done.

Those look like they could have been taken 50 years ago. The images look great in Black and White. Thanks for posting.
