Ahhh thats the way i remember them Cragar SS or slotmags factory paint a crocked bumper and some dings in the corners Wavy aluminium trim Cruised and .............you know many times in cars like that
Do fender skirts make it a street rod...............LOL. This was my last big resto completed in 1995 with only 66K on the clock. I'm the 5th owner and found the original owner, during that time. He had traded in a 1958 Impala for the 63. I have his original invoice sheet and a letter he sent me. In turn I sent him photos of his car after I finished the resto.
I brought my 63 to a bar one afternoon and it seems a lot of guys got their first "something" in a 63 Impala...
Bad shifter you forgot this commonly used for the slow of whit. I was going to say that the NSRA must have a site or look to any Goodguys coverage they seem to attract a lot of street rods as well. I somehow don't think that the Impala pictured is a street rod, maybe the craigers make it a street rod? Nope 4 door also. But why would you an one unless you were shooting for the I screwed with my moms car look? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- jq63 I think you just got terminology confused, that happens. We are just taking a chance to have some fun at your expense. The Impala pretty much looks like a lot of them did when I was a kid. maybe Chromies or Americans in place of the craigers but they look fine on the car as well. Most had stockish paint, and interior and the money saved would have been spent on making it go fast. One of my latino buddies used to say if you can't look fast you better go fast.
I don't believe so, those were biscaynes. They made impala SS, Sport coupes and Z11s in 63 (New impalas are 4 door) Still can't get over 4 door Dodge Chargers...
I know where there's a biscayne that came with a 409. too bad the 409 was removed and now has a 350. Guy wanted 2,000 for it and I might scoop it up soon.
They made an Impala 4 door hard top, went to school with a fella who drove his mothers 4 door '63 all the time. It was not an Impala clone she bought it new. Hell it was still late model when we cruised it.
It,s definately not a street rod but, with a straight axle in the front I think it could work.hehe I do love that color. My grandfather had that car in same color and I remember riding in the back on sat. to go to the market. It always smelled of wrigleys spearmint. Aww the memories, anywhoo...LB
Thats the first thing people do is put their nose inside the car and smell the interior, You can see them literily go back in time!
Here's the first Chevy I ever owned. Bought it in 1968 for $300. It was a 283 with 3 speed on the column. I changed it over to a 4-speed, drove it another year then sold it to a friend for $750.
lowbiz, I thought that I had seen 4 door post cars that were Impalas but I couldn't put my finger on one and that's been a long time ago.
In Sweden atleast there was 4 door post Impalas uggly part cars the roof is higher than the body sides Some lowlifes here had a blue 4 door post They went to see American grafitti and got inspired So after the movie they tied a guy to the car and draged him
And another tragedy with a 63 impala there was some fighting among two gangs and one guy jumped from there car on to the hood on the Impala He fell off and got under the car and was draged along for several miles along the highway It was blood all over the right side off the Impala
