Partially my fault...maybe more. I decided to try out some of the new one piece aluminum Cragar S/S's so I shopped around on the internet. Jegs had the best price so I ordered. Then they send me a message telling me they will take a month to ship since they are on back order. I wanted the 610G like this:

    Here's what I got:

I only received 1 and the invoice shows I only ordered 1. That can be fixed since I payed for 4 but I wanted the all aluminum wheel and got the steel with aluminum center wheel because Jegs has the wrong picture with the wrong wheel. Yeah shoot me for not reading all the fine print but I had already picked the wheel on the Cragar site and the pic matched.

Now I'm torn. This wheel looks traditional (and yes it is US made) but it looks like an old S/S that has been spray painted in the center. If I had actually wanted steel rimed ones I would have got the all chrome ones. Debating if I should get them to send me the ones I wanted or live with these???

The one pictured looks cool. What color is the car?

Is the issue the polished lip? If not, I must not be seeing it.

I actually like the others more. What car are they going on?

One piece aluminum vs. chrome steel rim with painted aluminum centers. Apples and oranges.

Send it back, get what you wanted in the first place.
Looks like me and john think alike.:D

  8. I dont thinkthere should be any arguement from Jegs if you ordered from them and the pic was wrong .... what was the "fine print" your referencing? Either way seems you should get the ones you like most .... and if it a question of which ones others like, that should even enter into your decision .... JMO

Where it actually said steel rim with aluminum center and "picture may vary from actual product".

Just got off the phone...they gave me the "we sent what you ordered" but I stressed how their picture is wrong. They told me to call back monday for some reason. Maybe to give them time to fix the picture.

might as well get it straightened out now before they send you the other 3 wheels that you dont want, its alot easier to send one wrong wheel back than four

What is the purpose of this thread?

Have you even bothered to contact Jegs first?

Sure getting tired of these threads.

  13. Maybe to give them time to fix the picture. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I would go w/the ones you originally wanted. I say this because A: the wheel they sent DOES look like a regular Crager w/a primered center, and B: why would you want to "learn to live with" some wheels you really didn't want , yet spent your good money on ? It would always bother me...

  16. If the all aluminum wheel is a one-piece casting, I think (read that "I PROMISE") the aluminum wheel will be straighter than the steel wheel. For that reason alone I say "send it back".

I have not surfed the Cragar site but I do know their new "flat spoke" aluminum wheels are one-peice, I do not know if the style you show is also.

One-piece (to me) means ... "cast, machined on a lathe and damn straight" (as long as the lug holes get drilled in the correct spot.

One other thought is that chrome wheels always seems to rust/peel at some point ... aluminum can always be repolished (the lip) and repainted (like your wheel in the center).

    I'm done babbling, carry on.

One thing I have learned on this site is this ... if you mount a tire on that wheel you can NOT return it.

but don't forget, it was the OP that made the mistake. Does he even have a justified reason for asking for an exchange?

If Jegs is good enough to make it happen, then good on them.

but if they aren't, the OP, and the rest of the supporters he recruited on HAMB, have no reason to******.

    just my $.02

I agree!!! It's not like this is an "end of the world" issue.... Jeg's will make it right, they always do. No need to make a post out of a stupid order mix up.

If you paid with them using a credit card file a claim, send the***** back to them and order from a company that stills treats customers right. Screw Jegs.

  22. Jeeze, I didn't get the feeling the OP was******ing or complaining about anything ... the way I see it is he is asking for peoples opinion on which wheel looks better. I personally couldn't care who made the mistake and sent (or ordered) the wrong wheel ... if the OP reads the (non-toxic) responses it might help him make a decision as to which wheel looks better or is a better choice. If Jegs (or whoever) is willing to accept a return and exchange then let em.

Yep that makes sense. That's why we ask questions here....for opinions. Thanks

And fyi...here's my goof. I picked the wheel I wanted on Cragars site. Found the wheel here on Jegs site:

As I found out now, the 61G is not what is pictured. See how I could goof?

What the hell. Now we're down to "Screw Jegs". Next comes the "baseball bat em" crew.... Great thread.
To the OP, you could have easily posted pics of both wheels and asked for opinions since you are unsure. But you started a drama thread, so now we have drama.

  25. Just giving you the heads up here ... are you SURE the wheels are made in the States?

I questioned Cragar regarding their Eliminator wheels (I think that is the name for the one-piece all aluminum flat-spoke wheels) and they admitted that they are made in "Asia". It wouldn't surprise me if those aluminum wheels are also made in Chin____ ooops, I mean Asia.

No it's a keep'em or try to return them thread. If you read I accepted the fact of my mistake. Thanks for trying to make it dramatic.

I saw the Eliminator but they looked a little "Batmobile'ish" to me.

Based on the pictures you showed I like the all aluminum wheels, the ones I think you really want. Jegs will make it right.
