helped him move some stuff around and he now got the car back at the shop. But he hasnt touched yet. I spose now that its in his, temptation will give in soon
Bill we don't need to be lead, told where, or have to find it. We are capable of creating tempation all on our own
Dont know what it is about this time of year but I get right in the mood to be at a project.. guess Im not the only one like this.lol..Where pictures of all the new parts you have and let see that rearend you talking about..
I think the cold and crappy weather has something to do with it... Theres nothing to do, except hang out in the garage and do garage things. I'll post up some more pictures some soon. I spent 3 hours the other night trying to pounding/ drilling the old tappered nut off the spring perches and another hour of heating it trying to loose the perch in the axle but no sucess. Bill i see what you were saying at fitz's about how brutal it was and im not worried about wheels know unless i find the ones for the small dish im looking for. Dragged home 2 lower trailing arms and mounts of a late 60's chevy today, not sure if i will use them or the truck setup that i still have to go fetch. I also got to grab a dash i found. The guage out of the hearse looks like it will fit with very little modifacation.
Lots of sweat equity there. Nice work. The banjo steering wheel and lever shock absorber are either Austin-Healey parts or from a big Austin sedan.
Not sure what you mean about the wheels, (Small dish = bolt pattern?) but no problem if you end up needing them later as I'll get them myself and put them behind my garage. One of us might need them later on. Perches are fun aren't they!?!? Hahaha Don't sweat it man....its how you earn your wings in this racket! How many of your buddies from school are working on taking apart an axle for their Model A Hot Rod??? You might need to use an air hammer to force them out or make a puller like was on the HAMB here last week. That looked to work nice.... I thought you'd have those truck arms by now.
I had no idea what it was off of... Thanks for identfiying it for me. And I think its from a big sedan because it was a 4 door... i also got some cool inner door handles as well from it.
ahhh i messed up. I got 4 wheels for mock up. Only got to find thr proper wheels i want to run. I have no excuse for not getting them. But its going to have to be after x-mas know being supper busy
Picked up this for $60 bucks. It has 9 inch and 3 wheels that i want for the car. It is a 64 ford truck turned into a trailer. Also grabbed these also but i dont plan on using them for the car
Where is the basepan to the bottom of the lower frame? Engine looks high to me! Look cool. one little step at a time. Your getting there.
Not much of a update... I traded my old beater 88 gmc for a 56 f100 profject so there wont be much progress on the car for a while. Im not giving up on it. I miss having a truck and this one is easier to build.
Keep at it Jason...you'll get there! You've been able to round up a lot of good parts over this past year so i can really see this coming together as a very cool Hot Rod. Anything you need help with just ask...
Yeah Jason, I have this buddy in Nova Scotia with all kinds of cash! I'll hit him up for ya!!! Hahaha Steve...we're pretty proud of this young fella! Not many experienced people would tackle a car in this rough a shape, but Jason is digging in and getting it done! This is his first Hot rod and its a full on learning experience for him. He built the chassis himself with some minor guidance from Fitzee...is doing all the welding himself(apprentice weldor)...sourced some really cool parts to add to the build...scrapped a Caddy hearse for the drivetrain... He's extremely dedicated to the project and is DEFINATELY one of the "up and comers" in our Hot Rod world. Don't be surprised when you see this little Short pulling into Centennial park for the Atlantic Nationals in a couple of years!
Bill this is this where I make a smart ass remark about Jason being on the road before you get the 32 on the go? Sorry I just had to say it !!
Jason will have his on the road befor bill finshes the Dodge never mind the 32!!lol sorry bill I had to!!
Yup...this would be the perfect spot! Hahaha I've actually reached a point where I have to admit my soul isn't into a coupe. The Moncton trips in the Roadster have pretty much set it in stone that my real love is Modifieds and the like. I feel totally at home in a minimalistic car like that. Besides...REAL Hot Rods don't have roofs! (Coupe is NOT for sale though...somebody pass the hacksaw!!!! LoL) Fitz...bite me! Hahahaha
LMAO Fitzee !! Bill just weld the doors shut and wack the roof off the Dodge, that should cure the roadster itch now get on the 32 !!
I dunno about me finishing this car before bill finishes the dodge... but i will be on the road before the fitz's flatline, even if i stops building it and starts a totaly new 56 project
The pickup does have most of the parts to build it right away, but my defective gene really wants to see you do this one first! Still...you're setting a high goal to be out with the 56 before fitz and the Flatliner!!! I smell a competition brewing!!!!
You probably already know this, but the Ford 9 inch rear you scored has desirable 31 spline axles. When I saw those initial pictures of when you got the body I said "no way" but you are bringing it along really well. Don
