If you use something other than bones split to the rails you, and other road users, will be much safer. There, is that what you wanted to hear?
RK, I am going with my set up (2 lower wishbones running along the frame with a transverse spring. The only thing I am still not sure on is whether the spring will prevent axle wrap (my wishbones will attach the axle via a wishbone/4 bar dual attachment points using heim joints and attach at the front via tierod end). I realize I will not get alot of axle lean but its a small light car.. I will live with that for looks.. if in the end if does not work, I will switch to a rear hairpin (and front to match). I am looking at the possibility of a single center bar (attaching to the center housing similar to what striper did but looking at mounting it under the housing with the bar running below the driveshaft to a mount at the trans/driveshaft joint (at the bottom of a driveshaft loop) so it would pivot with the rearend. If you have room under the floor, then take a look at Striper's new rearend set up.. I just do not have room under my car with the floor sunk into the rails.
On the subject of the rear wishbones and all I still like the solution I came up with. Mind you I am using coil overs rather than the transverse rear spring. Nice build so far
Keep at it Boones, looking GREAT! I think that you will find it to be the "funnest" car you ever owned. Rich
Bingo....run lower bars under or outside the frame rails and the upper bar down the trans tunnel. I also am running a panhard bar. Keeps the rear suspension away from where you ass wants to go! We need an update on this modified!
