I know it might be a little silly for a 53 year old man to still be into Hot Wheels but I can't help it. How many other guys collect Hot wheels?

Do you guys look for the Treasure hunts or the Super treasure hunts.? I didn't even know there was such a thing as a Super treasure hunt until I saw it on ebay....

I think they stopped doing that last year. The super hunts were like the original treasure hunts with rubber tires and metallic paint and the regulars were like the mainlines with plastic tires and regular paint.

  8. I have well over 150 and some are real old and still in the boxes, they are more valuable that way. I do a rather large Christmas display every year in our front bay window. Rags

I eer, have 100's, ok, maybe more than hundreds, BUT, I'm just collecting them for my grandson, even though he doesn't know it yet. And the neet thing is there is nothing in the collection but hot rods and customs, period. No hot snot cars.

I'm 56... have quite a few, BUT! I take 'em out of the box! I need to touch 'em and look 'em over! Maybe paint the tailights and trim if they need it.

I don't try to speculate on 'em I want to enjoy 'em. And when I kick the bucket I hope some kids play the crap out of 'em!

i use to do that also but the humidity here would cause the packages to start warping.

I only buy the hotrods & custom muscle cars, the only issue I've had is some of the bubbles turn yellow after a few years. Worst case, it's only a buck to replace, & an excuse to take it out and play with it on the kids track. The treasure hunt's stay in the house, but I have to admit I've never heard of a "super" treasure hunt? HHmmmm; researching...

They kinda lost me when they quit their line of Adult Collectible cars. I would collect the replicas of old hot rods, customs, drag cars, indy cars, and land speed cars. They done dried up though. :(

I like to buy them (when I see new ones that catch my interest), but I don't "collect" them. They hang in the shop till my friends' kids come over, they always know they'll get to pick out a couple of new Hot Wheels at Gator's house.

  21. I started collecting when my sons were small. They out grew it and I didn't.I collect any brand that makes cool HAMB friendly type stuff.Oh,and I'm 54.

I've got a foot locker full, still in the boxes. It's been in storage for the past 15 years.

I sold off most of my collection in 2001 I had several full set of Treasure Hunts and a bunch of other more expensive ones. I had several of the JC Whitney Busses and a bunch of White lightnings too. Proceeds went to a large portion of a real hot rod. I did keep some of my best vintage redlines

Im 58 and Ive collected them for over 20 years. But now days I only buy what I like. The resellers have people working in the stores that take out all the popular ones and treasure hunts befor they hit the racks. I use to pay crazy money for them, just to complete a set. But not anymore.

I'm 65 and have no idea how many I have. probably a couple hundred. I've got several Danbury mint cars from when I had a bit more spending money and they had the interesting ones. I've also seemed to gather a collection of Diecast Chevy AD trucks in different configurations.

  27. I have collected for years and now just what I like and original redlines.
Also I collect the M2 cars, they are on par with the old 100% HW.
M2 even did "Bad Bob's" Merc, and I understand will be doing another HAMBer.

I still buy them, mostly vintage racers and muscle cars in authentic colors. One of my favorites is the Alfa Romeo BAT 9: [IMG]

The all-metal body comes in two halves joined at the belt line, and it even has a tiny Alfa cross and serpent badge on the grille. It's a very cool build.

I don't really look for Treasure Hunts or pay any more than a buck for anything. I've only run across two Treasure Hunts; both in supermarkets. And I only bought them because I liked them. One was a Lotus Elise, the other was a nice gold '69 Charger.

I am looking for all the AMC Javelin models. I have the copper one and the green one now.

Thats why I quit collecting them when 6-8 grown men are waiting at the door for the store to open then run full speed to the Hot wheels display somethings not right, then it even got worse I know of guys that were sneaking into the warehouse area to pull them out of the cases before they hit the floor. I did find somebody's (Target employee) stash once of a super rare target exclusive Dragula White lightning and a couple Treasure hunts that were hidden a few rows away from Hot Wheels. I sold the Dragula for $110.00
