If you weren't a teen male in the mid-1960s, I doubt
that there are enough words to describe adequately
the sensation that Elke Sommer epitomized. Getting
her first screen success in '59, Elke was in demand
by, seemingly, every medium, from advertising to
movies, TV and music, even well after the '60s. Unlike
    other actresses, Sommer's perfectly proportioned
face and form meant that there was no such thing as
over-exposure for her. Film exhibitors knew that
Elke Sommer's name was among the biggest box-of-
fice draws of the decade. She starred in many big-
screen financial smashes, always as the leading lady
and opposite many of the top-drawing male leads.

Though she sizzled on the big screen, this now-quaint
Coppertone ad makes sensuous Elke look pretty much
like the girl next door! :D LOL. Ad thanks to Tarkus-
    MagicMac.

Julie Andrews she was NOT! Poster thanks to FilmBug.

Looking deceptively cool and elegant:cool:, Baroness
Elke and Sylva Koscina were blood-thirsty sport
killers in the spyful "Deadlier That the Male," '67.
