See now if you went with that HEMI I would have said you could have done some real damage....but that little Y block is only going to shear some axle keys at worst case scenario. :)

  4. JJ, I have 2 words for you to fix your problem. "Halibrand Columbia". You wont have to cut the frams up for the transmission, it is trad, and it works. here ia a link to look at HERE. Looks cools as hell. Only problem is having pockets deep enough to do it.

  5. Andy, The frame mods are looking great. When are you gonna show off some of those tig welding skills?

Andy, what kind of TIG did ya get? I just got my first TIG machine, a Miller diversion 180. Lets just say I'm still learning. Mild steel is cake, but aluminum....forget it. I tried to weld 18ga. aluminum yesterday.....haha....what a mess.

Andy, I am stoked to say that I once owned a part that will be in this ride :)

I am always amazed at your tenacity!

as for JJ's question, couldnt a f-1 crossmember and pedals do the trick?

I know its not pre 47 but its atleast pre 52 :D

Joe, it's a lincoln precision TIG 185, it's loads of fun so far but yeah... I'm also "still learning" haha! I haven't attempted aluminum yet...

thanks man, f1's work really well in an A frame but would be a definite downgrade from the stock xmember in a later car, could be made to work by adding front and rear legs but a LOT of work... I would only consider it if I had a frame with no xmember.

Thanks fellas, not much to report today, all I did was clear all the crap off the roof that has accumulated since I plopped the body down in the garage. Getting prepared to slice it into bite size chunks this weekend...
