Projects 59 El Camino.. Part Two

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by J.Fishbeck, Nov 10, 2011.

  1. I was curious to see how the pearl would turn out. Very nice indeed! Great Job!

  2. Being that base coats green, the green in the pearl doesn't show up.. No worries, it's something different. I'm glad it's subtle, cos' the blue really does come out in the sun. The pics don't do it any justice

    Looking good.

  5. Thanks, Billy! It came out okay, even out here in all the dirt.. Now it's time I can relax

  6. My Dad is on life support in the hospital. Not something you ever want to relay, to anybody. It might be a heart attack or stroke. A prayer would be greatly appreciated. I thought I should let those who know him, know what's happening. I know this is a forum for good times, so I do apologize

My prayers are with you, I can relate as my 91 year old father is also in the hospital.

  8. I am sorry my friend. I have never been so heartbroken, but things are looking up. He's stabilized and has brain activity. He's with good people, they're really doing their job well. I can't ask for more. Boy, what a day

Prayers sent.. Lost my dad 2 years ago when I was 21. Not something I would ever wish on my worst enemy. Glad to hear he's doing better.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Thoughts and prayers going out to him and your family.

  19. God bless all of you, for your thoughts and prayers. I'm selfish an I want him here with me. I AINT giving up.. Thank you everyone! They are checking his blood extensively, to see why he went into arrest. He stopped breathing which lead to his heart stopping. I can be thankful, we're not far from the hospital. Joe drove him there, running red lights when possible. (Sigh)

Jay, I'm glad that your dad made it through the first 24. That's a huge hurdle to clear with something like this. Lost my dad in '06 to a brain bleed. Got a headache and he was gone. Keep us posted on your pops. This is when what's really important shines.

Prayers sent for you and your dad.

    Mike

  21. thank you for that information on the first 24. That is important info. I didn't know about that. he's doing better he has good pupillary response. Keep Praying
    , please!

  22. I had to keep busy, to keep from thinking more than I already do. So I put in a little more time on the steering column and wheel. I finally got the pearl to show in some photos today. Made up some masking paper, and got to work. Frank, the late owner of Franks Paint & Body Shop.. used to yell at Dad & Uncle when they'd be masking off a car, reading the articles on the paper. Frank would tell 'em, "You wanna read, go to the library!" They would laugh as they told me that story, everytime.

    Original steering wheel before..

Then today's "after" shots.. The pearls shows a little better in these pics

Still needs to be color sanded.. I'm not that good yet!

and the column after I color sanded it and shot more pearl, then just straight clear

I'm on my way to the hospital, to go see Dad. They turned off the incubator, early & he didn't start breathing. But it might be residual, from the morphine. so we're still waiting. Please continue to pray for my father, thank you.. through my tears

  23. Looks good! I like the subtle look of it.

Hope all goes well for a speedy recovery for your dad.!

God Bless your Dad. I'm a 2 time heart attack veteran, the last being a quadruple bypass. They are doing medical miracles nowadays. My prayers are with him.....................Mike

  26. Thanks you, sir!

Two close friends of mine are SICU RNs (they might as well be family, you know what I mean!) have both said his reactions are very promising. I appreciate kind words!

God bless you, Mr. HemiFarris! The world is a better place with you in it. Thank you for the positive encouragement. Hope you're doing well yourself!

Jay, I don't where you find the motivation to work. I was in your shoe with my Son back in late March. I know what you see when you visit your Dad. I won't say I know what you feel, but I will say I couldn't get up the strength to do anything. Still keeping my best wishes and hopes for your Dad and you. John

  28. Hoping for the best Jay....when he comes back live everyday to the fullest.

I was REALLY close with my grandparents, this Christmas day marked the 10th year of my grandmothers passing......Christmas isn't fun anymore.

    Be strong, my friend!

  30. Dads ordeal happened on Christmas. Then Monday, I find out they are already planning to take our property through "eminent domain". Because of the economy, they can afford to buy more. I've heard from a lawyer, HE lost HIS building he practiced in. So I have to keep moving.. I have toooo much to do!

Sorry to hear that.. and thank you!

Thank you.. You guys are all great! I keep praying
