Love this thread. How does the body sit flat on the frame since the 32 frame is not flat?

You had to make a filler piece from memory, this is an 'A' on '32' frame diagram.
Here's a coupe the fellow above sold to finish the Tudor. Before this he had another car, an 'A' roadster on '32' rails as well.

i quess im weird, but i dont like the look of anything sitting on top of the frame. i like the sides of the rails under the car.but i do think it makes the roadster body look taller.which is a good thing.im having this arguement with my son now because we just got momma a 30 tudor sedan body.

Mine has the side rails under the body for a light channel which gives it a more finished look.

Great thread idea. I think most of those cars have been in my saved for reference file for a while. The look has already spelled real hotrod to me.

Or the other way to go about it with a '28 '29 body is to pull the cowl sides off and pie cut the front body mounts by just a touch. (1/4" to 3/8" comes to mind) That way the front conforms to the slight upward slope at the fire wall, while the bulk of the body sits flat on the rear 2/3 of the frame rails. It allows you to drop the body a bit flatter and a bit lower than the old spacer method... My favorite.

'30 '31s look great with just a tiny bit of channel at the front to account for the upward slope.
