Projects Clipping our 57 chevy

    Here are some pic of us clipping our 57 Chevy gasser, we had already put an axle under our stock frame rails but we are going lighter and installing a 502 and out comes the 454...here are some pix, this isnt the first one we do...:)
    This was the car last year at Bakersfield for March meet and the car that was in Hot Rod Havoc 4

    Voodoo Stripped the suspension and doing what he does taking the sawsaw to it...

    all the stuff is put aside, the front fenders and hood will all be fabricated into a one peice tilt unit...

    This is what it starts with 2 Sticks and tubbing. here were setting up the angle fo the rails...

    the springs were mounted outboard with the old front rails, so we had to moved them in to fit the new rails...

    there it is all welded in, down bars from the firewall will be added after we install the 502 and the fenderwell headers...

    i got Moonshine Bob cleaning out the sheetmetal for me to go in and weld it all together...a fibber glass front clip was out of our budget:( to get the car done for March meet...

    we found out that our steering box was busted so i had to fix it, probly from the road courses we did at OC labor day car show..

    Agghhh I've wanted to do this to my sheet metal front end forever. I can't afford a fiberglass nose But gezze NO PICTURES?!?!? DAMNNNIT
    Maybe we can get some of the inside of it all to see the set up. Please?

    It looks real tough man, Gonna beat something up in a back alley :D

    looks pretty clean, next week we install the 502, trany, build the radiator support, shock mounts and firewall down tubes...

    more 'probly' from the acute angle of that pitman arm...

    you might consider replacing the box with one that lines up in a geometrical plane.

    That's cast iron, incidentally. NOT a good fix, especially a steering component.
