2nd pic shows how an x member should be built without any flexing issues .A week away from paint and my build thread ......
Always well worth the effort to do it right the way you are. But I was also hearing James Cagney in that ***le.......... Great looking frame!
Excellent example of how to build a frame that is up to the task. show us the rest as progress continues. Frank

That frame looks like it could support a small bridge, good work. Looking forward to seeing the rest come together.
Body is going black as well as frame ,Gloss ,Tomorrow Im going to buy a gallon ,Centari 99 A .Pitch Black. Its a real nice Ford color .I came across when I use to do other peoples cars ,Till the township shut me down, Im just glad they laid off for many years,I use to get a letter for everything,Im glad I live in America......
Looks great, John. Yer gettin' there, man. John's been workin' on this hot rod for a couple of years now...when he can get to it...family-man and all that, don't cha know. Told him at Christmas time, "You'll be drivin' 'er this season!" He knew beter...lol. Keep it up, John.
Thanks Rick ,I hope this thread gets you motivated to build yours.Lol Heres a way to hang your radius rods in the front .Thats really old school.Actually my dads idea, He schooled me so far and I did all the work welding ,Body and such ,This is my first build,I was a muscle car guy ,Now Im a Hamber.....
I'm not trying to be a smart*** with this question: How does the driveshaft work with that setup? I'm trying to be a smart*** with this statement: Did you video tape the frame, and take pictures of the TV with a webcam to get those pics? I'm just joshing. I do offer to buy folks a digital camera if I ever meet em though.
Transmission yoke stiks out the center hole in crossmember a few inches, yoke sticks out a littlle further than that. You cant see the hangers in the rear for the 36 radius rods Im using though, And pics are from my ****py digital...........
Updated painted frame pics.Built a dolly also to roll frame outside while working on rear suspension ,Buying sand blasting sand this weekend for rear ,Unfortunately working the 9 to 5 sat and sunday and then to glorious Hershey ,So it will be a few weeks till this gets updated.I want to have this a rolling frame by Christmas........
Nice work, John......and you know how I love glossy black!! Your frame looks killer.......and that's one helluva kickup in the rear!! Congrats on a really great start....... CB
Just a little sneak peek on body ,And no its not steel.I fooled a hamber last week ,It looks like steel,Especilly with the steel wheel wells and soon firewall,Also added roof top brackets in steel ... Also spent alot of time shaping the edges of doors.Im a stickler for details...Even though I screwed up and put 31 rear deckl lines in it,The bodylines on the rear trunk portion were horrible and I spent months shaping new ones.
Sprayed the back wheels wrong color ,So did the fronts,The right color,Im not one to be polishing wheels and reclearing every 6 months,So prime and paint.....Alumna blast ,Its a flat silver ....Looks Like cast
Thank god its the weekend .The warrior will be blasting rearranging and maybe wetsanding 2 mistakes ,The sand blasting of the front end and rearranging is the most important....Kids birthday tommorrow Have to stop at 5 and rollerskating party with kids sunday ,Another stop at 5 .Now I know the meaning you pay when you play....Lol and want to thank the guys that posted on front end color,I said I wouldnt go black and I am......
Shop is a mess Ive been bodyworking front end ,I see why guys buy new, front end is taking forever ,Curse those pits and real parts
