Thanks, 731132, for posting these! I've seen the scarce '55 station wagons, but I have
never seen a commercial body on a '55 DeSoto chassis before. Anybody else seen this
before? I wonder what company did this.

"Sure"---During WWII we had tax tokens, it took 10 tokens to make 1 cent, so you would give the grocer 5 tokens= 1/2 cent---OK?

A 5" 54 gun mount from the navy, used on destroyers to BB ships

  17. The aircraft on the right is definitly ON Topic, The Pietenpol was one of the first designs for home builders and used a Model A Ford engine.

Look close and you will see it is a sedan body with an extended roof and custom built rear section not a station wagon. This is the same way that Memphian built them using the less expensive sedan platform but I do not know if that is a Memphiam. I do not see the nameplates that the company would have put on.

The one below 1958 Desoto Firesweep Memphian they even squared off the rear door top. It is made from a sedan not a wagon. Sorry for the modern pictures!

No, it's definitely built on a regular Firedome sedan. You're right. And that is exactly what got me so interested. Everythin, down to the rear bumper, side trim, tail lights, etc., looks dead-stock Firedome sedan.

Ed, I think the '58 Memphian ambulance may, indeed, provide a strong HINT who did the '55. Thanks, bro!
