From Mt.Pleasant IA a few years ago, biggest steam tractor show on earth etc. etc. Owner of this gem claimed he had it up to 70 once, with out the covered wagon. His daily driver for the summer.
All I could find were some old interior shots from when I bought it. I've cleaned it up since then, but not made any real changes...
I was on my way from Hayward to Disneyland and I believe that I seen you guys along with another truck with the same camper following you heading through the Altamont pass. I thought it was just wonderful to see those gem's still around.
I've seen plenty of late '60s and early '70s drag cars and Funnys on here to know different, but thanks, anyway!
Here's an old '60 Layton I sold to a local rodder a couple of years ago. Shoulda kept it, but you can't keep everything.
Yep, exactly like mine. Cool to see it with the fridge and stove. Mine was pretty well butchered so I had to go custom. Thanks for sharing! Jon
scored this today for 100 big ones.the guy i bought it from had allready hauled it to the crusher.then he found out that i might like to have one . he went and got it back and came to my house and ask me to make him an offer. i did and its mine.............. bullit holes included.
Good score! little kilz primer inside, some paint, new cushions it will be good as new! Our scotty looked that that when we got it. 3 weeks later it was done, and we were using it up north in the woods. Jon
Here, insurance is optional, you can get permanent trailer plates and registration for them. Title and Tags are required, but not the insurance. Jon
Check with your car insurance carrier. Often trailered vehicles, (campers, boats, utility trailers, etc.) are covered under those policies.
My brother sent me these pics of this 64 F-350. Found it for sale in Longmont, Co. Thought I needed it to tow the 65 Falcon race car we are building. Be too cool but last thing I need is another project plus I'd have no place to keep it. FWIW it's apparently low milage, runs great but the camper has some water damage and some other issues. Still sounds like a deal at the $1500 OBO she's asking for it!
I absolutely love it. Love the Impala lights. Now I'll start dreaming of one with fins grafted into the sides of the camper, a continental kit, and a Chevy logo window. I'd love a Caddy version too. I also really like the ones with the Packard, Ponco, and Tbird. That Corvair Super Van gives me ideas of doing something with some of those Corvair vans we have. Perhaps a Corvair camper for a Corvair car or a triple axle extended van. Would that make it MWD and ME though haha.
Stumbled across this postcard on eBay. The description suggests that it's a "Lanola". Wild stuff...anyone ever see one?
Reminds me of our camping trips with Pop and two of my Uncles back in the day....three Fords, three Cab overs. No chassis mounts tho...Damn that was fun!
