That's a good looking 5W body. I'm jealous. You have a bit of work to do on your windshield frame though.

  17. Here's my 5W. I thought I'd posted it; but, I guess that was another thread. There's nothing, in my opinion, like a "Deuce 5W. I've lusted over them for over 50 years. Yup! Gotta keep this thread alive.:D

Here' mine: the first shot is at the "Lost Drive In" at San Luis Obispo; the second two are at Laguna Seca Raceway and the last one (the Black and White) is at Buttonwillow Raceway.

When were those taken, what year? Very cool!

  19. "Lost Drive-in" was taken about 10 years ago.

The ones at Laguna Seca were taken during Cherries Jubilee at Monterey about 8 years ago.

The B&W at Buttonwillow was about 6 years ago, when I had to use the 5W coupe, as my '32 Champ Car was down for repairs, to finish qualifying for my Vintage Racing License.

Today, the "Deuce" is about in the same shape. It only goes out on weekends.

My Dad in the late 60's working on the car. He sold it in 1980 when I was in high school. I was crushed. I tracked it down in 2000 and found it with the same owner but had been vandalized. I bought it back and cleaned it up as best I could. Not to bad for laquer sprayed in the garage in 1974! In the future I will tear it down but for now it is good enough. I was very lucky to get the car back. Brian

What a great looking car; your old man has good taste. I'll bet that's a lot of fun.
