Kirk offered to let me store my T Sedan at his place so I can build the frame. Today is moving day.....First, Let's make room to move. This old Shoebox Ford is in the way and covered with white stuff. Put Jen in the driver's seat and heave it outta the way!
So here's what I have to work with....10x16 shed with barn doors. Compressor in the way, couple kids bikes and the frame I started 2 yrs ago for the T. Move 'em!
I put the body on some big casters when I got it. Really is easy to move......Half way out! At this point, my dogs don't have a clue what's going on. Especially Brownie. I don't think she's ever seen this car!
Let's take a step back and check out the driveway.....Old man across the street yells over and gives me the thumbs up. Crappy old Fords...it's a way of life.
Kirk will be here any minute with his trusty Ford diesel. We'll throw down some grub (Jenny made her awesome chicken meatballs in bbq sauce) get it loaded and take it to his garage. More pics of more shinanigans later.
This may sound weird but....Jenny's balls were delicious!! HAHA! Kirk showed up and between him, Daren and I, we picked up the body and got it into the truck. No small feat. His truck is lifted and has bigger tires. Anyways, it looks crazy back there. Taller than everything else. Really hepled me decide to chop it. Anyways, it's off to Kirk's garage where it will get hung on the wall. We'll save that for another post.....
In the meantime....look at all the room I have to build my frame!! By the end of next week, I'll have the front suspension in place and a rear X-member mocked up. I have all the dimensions I need for engine/trans placement so I can figue that out also. Gotta say a big 'ole thanks to Kirk Hanning for the offer to make some more room for me and to Daren for the use of his rippling muscles!
Notice I fixed the date on my camera! Haha! I'm so excited to build my chassis. It would be cool to flat tow a hot rod T behind the Shoebox for Back to the Bricks. Vguess I need another front wishbone to make a towbar!
Did some more organizing in the shed. Got my welder in place and my compressor ready to rock. Should have my front crossmember in early this week. Gonna be a flat member with the axle mounted in front of the bones-mounted spring. I have a '36 Ford front axle and '40 brakes but need a pair of roundback spindles.
Haha! My biggest dog, Kinesis, just happens to be a Siberian Husky! Almost died one time a few years back when she pulled me on the sled.....towards traffic! Charlie.....still mine, just in different spot.
The T body looks real nice. Actually, it appears to be in better shape than the F350.....some 80 years it's senior!
