Just now finding this thread, and glad no worse damage! As I said over on the Social group thread, cast pistons ain't all that bad on a hot street engine long as you leave off the nitrous! Dave
Nothing like having more then you need. It's hard to hold back. I'm on vacation all this week so it been great ridding to the bread store. Cool man
It's a new year and I hope that every body had as good a year as I did in 2011. My kids are doing great and I have a wonderful wife that understands the car thing and she even gets involved in the building and the weekend hang outs. I have met some new friends that taught me a good bit about the Hot Rod seen and for you guys on the HAMB, thanks for all your kind words and input. So Happy new year and lets bring in 2012 with nothing but good stories. I do want to report that today I finished the tuning of the new motor and it is kicking ***. It sounds healthy and runs far better that I ever thought it would. The Motor totally rocks man, Now I have a Hot Rod!! Time to take on some Big Blocks. 6500 RPMs are coming easy these days. Have a great new year
Let me tell everyone......THIS CAR IS A HOT ROD! I got my ride last week and man does that thing sound nice and runs even better. Thanks for the ride Carl
Carl, I know I said it before, I don't know where you find the time or energy. That engine sounds sweet!
Did a few things these past weeks but not much. Some small items that needed to be done but I guess that will always be the case since I never finish anything 100%. That way I can always say (I need to go work on the hot Rod) Hanging out in the garage and kicking back a few is much better then hanging on the couch watching TV. So here are a few pictures of the new Tach Josh and I put in Sunday and the new grill I recycled out of a computer cabinet. Its not much but all I have till I can get somthing better. I did get to use the metal brake my dad gave me the last time I was in NC visiting for Thanksgiving.
Great Build, I love seeing these Bow Ties brought back to life, although I am a little biased, building a 31 Olds myself.....but not at the pace you are by any means.
Deb and I took some pictures today. We had a great time and then watched the Sun Set on on Lake lanier.
So as time goes on and the cash is still going out the door, here is the latest add to the car. Its a new Center Force Clutch and Pressure plate along with a billet flywheel. No more worries about things flying apart and ripping into the floor and maybe my legs. Here is a cool video of some killer HP with the new stuff.
Did some work tonight on the front side and cleaned the the old horn ends by rounding them off and installing a bar to give it some sort of look. Not sure what its called but here it is. Take note that the head lights are also new. I will post some pictures of them tomorrow.
Looks real nice all painted. What type air cleaner you running, noticed it in the photo, looks coool?....Jim
