I am sure there are sentimental values where their cars were passed down , or was built by someones Dad or together , but just about any other car or truck can be bought for the right prices . Unless is has a really special meaning , then the right dollar sign will but it . Of course that price might be a $1,000,000 too !
If you have something very special that means a lot to you , KEEP IT !
I had one special car to me I really wish I still had too . I sold it due to my first wife giving me shit about racing it . Well I sold it and about 6 months later got rid of her too !
Just one of those things !

I am a 3rd generation car guy and have been around old cars all my life and work with them everyday. I will always have multiple cars but out of the 20 or so cars in my family, I will never sell my grandfathers 64 El Camino. My grandfather passed before I was born so unfortunately I was never able to spend time with him. You could say it is my connection to him.

You are going to give it to me instead?

I have said this about at least half a dozen cars, and they all wound up in someone elses garage. My last was my green 53 Merc. I swore I was a lifer with that car. Then the opportunity came along to get into a 49 that was chopped in the 60's, and the 53 went to a new owner. Maybe one day when I become independently wealthy, I will be able to keep them all.

For whatever reason, I'm simply not one of those "hang on to a car forever" guys. Don't get me wrong, I love cars and am very proud to have built and worked on some nice cars, and I maintain my cars to a higher degree than anyone I know. But if life has taught me anything, it's that cars are temporary, at least for me. I've seen too many people let a car sit and rot until there's nothing left to save rather than either enjoy it or sell it. I've sold cars I loved, regretted selling some cars and couldn't wait to sell others. All meant something, but in the end, nothing is quite as exciting as that next car.

I have sold a few i swore i would never sell no matter what! But, when a kid needs surgeory, a car can be replaced. My 58 will be a keeper as long as possible. My dad and i have spent alot of time working on it, and enjoyed a few shows together with it. I owned it once, and sold it right before getting married, and always told my wife i didnt regret selling it but if it ever came up for sale again i hoped she wouldnt be too mad at me cuz i was buying it one way or another! Luckily 10 years later it came up for sale when i was in a position to go get it a couple days after i heard about it. So, as long as no life altering occurances pop up, it stays!

I know its not a car but, my 51 aint going no where, second bike I built for myself but it was really built for me in mind. Its my only bike and I ride the shit out of it. My truck is getting there. I think once its all done I will get that same fuzzy feeling from it.

There isn't a car, bike, truck or boat that "can't be bought". It's just that the situation has never come up where the owner needed the money bad enough, the timing was right or the offer was way too good to pass up.

I sold my "I'll never sell it" 51 Merc in just such a situation. A guy caught me with a cash in hand offer at the right time under the right situation for him to buy the car.

Yes, I won't sell my Daddy's truck. I'm going to give it to my daughter one day & hopefully my grandson will get it a little later down the road.

I had between 25 & 30 keepers over the last 45 years. Currently have a deuce 3 window I've hung on to for 30 years, finally finished it last year. I'm finishing a deuce delivery and have a gennie deuce roadster and deuce pu in the wings. Getting old and wanting a new house may bring the reality that something must go. We'll see???

I'm selling the day I can no longer drive it. Or when someone walks up w/ stupid money.
Wife would sell it before my corpse is cold. Kids would sell it so they could buy some new pile of shit & probably use it as a trade-in! Grandkids would sell it for video games or a rat rod.
Not leaving any car stuff to family. They are all clueless.

  30. Inherited from my Dad and cannot be bought.
