They have Saguaros in Portland??????????? Here's a 4 dr that I took a picture of a couple of years ago, and I believe it belongs to a HAMBer in Redondo Beach, CA, my old home town.
NOT mine. It could be a traditional 4 door rat rod with some primer. It already has the flames, is lowered, has skirts and spotlights and a big blown engine..........love those slanty eye headlight covers.
Not mine...but I wish it were. This '55 Chevy sedan was first customized in 1958 by a dad for his son's 16th birthday. According to the story, the son was disappointed because it was a four-door! Many years later Barry Atkins discovered the car and brought it back to life in his shop in Connecticut. I first saw it at early KKOA and Lead East meets in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This car really opened my eyes to the potential for four-door kustoms. The proportions are spot-on: roof height, length, rear window tilt, etc. Even the always awkward C-pillar looks good on this car. The stock spear coordinates perfectly with the length of the car, the lakes pipe and the front fender spear. Anyone know if this car still exists? Or have more pictures?
Never been real fond of four doors but some look good. 60's Lincolns are cool. I really dig that one a couple of posts up. With the steel wheels though. Another cool one... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/661268/1 Little photoshop work on a pic I found online. It serves as inspiration for the '51 my Uncle just gave me.
four doors arnt as clean as the two doors and u got to take the gang cause they can all fit as for the price differents who cares I got mine cheep and dont want to see the price go up like the two doors let them invest in the two doors and Ill play with the fours. ......shhhh our little secret dont tell.
If my '67 is any sign of why the four doors are plentiful it's because people take the 2 doors and beat the hell out of them, modify them and eventually junk them. The four doors are bought by old people, maintained, garaged, and eventually passed down to their heirs, who sell them to us. Everyone who see's my Malibu says "too bad it's not a 2 door". Well 2 times in it's life someone has attempted to steal it. If it was a 2 door they would have tried harder. When's the last time you saw a 2 door with a 6 cylinder? They always become fake SS's. Everyone thinks it's a race car. My opinion.
Wagons seem to be under-represented in this thread, soooo....here's mine. Now it's an odd shade of "banana puddin' yellow" primer, though. By the way...does anyone make square peep mirrors? My round one looks outta place on my all square car.
I've had my 52 Chev about ten years. always thought of 2 doorin it. Now I'm building an A modified roadster, got a 36 coupe in back of the shed and two kids in the house. The four doors are lookin handier all the time. Good troop carrier.
1949 Merc. 4dr. circa 1957. (in process of being customized) 1951 Merc. rear quarters, 51' merc. rear glass, 1954 Pontiac grille (not installed), chopped top. Probably one of the first if not the first 4dr. Mercs. chopped.,
