Awesome! I am subscribed to this build. Can't wait to see more. Also, I love the build sheet, and the concept drawings look good. I like the direction.

It is so the carbs clear the generator. I dont like the side mount generator.

Someone threw me a Cold and I caught it...Blowin yellow chunks out the snot hole! Oh well that won't stop me! I got a little mocked up today, I won't say "Focked" up cause its Sunday! :D

a buddy had a left over 36 front drive train so I stole it from him! :D Split the bones and tucked it under theframe.

...Oh and added the front bumper...um...well that round tube thingy!

The headlight stantions are just temporary.

    ...temp motor mounts! :D

The center crossmember has damage and I don't feel to bad cutting it up! My plan is to cut a section out of the sides and shorten it a bit.

Thanks for the encourgement y'all...more to follow!

Not sure if you know but Speedway motors has steel motor mount pads that mount to the inside of the frame rails they include nice large diameter rubber pads identical to the origanal flathead Ford mounts
the assembly would match your setup really well.

Thanks Ronnie...I ordered some motor mounts a couple days ago!

I cant decide on what rear to use. I realy like the trad look of the banjo rear but like it has been proven in the past...the stock ones dont hold up whilst burning tires! :D

Anyhoo I think Im gonna run wide fives just because they look badass and my front is set up for them!

This is what I am shooting for...

    Question:
Anyone know if wide five drums fit on 40 ford spindles and backing plates? I want to run juice brakes instead of the manual.
    Thanks

37-39 drums will work. 36 spindles are longer so the drums won't work

Got a little boring stuff done...motor mounts...and I think I can use the original middle cross member. I actually cut it out and thought I needed to get rid of it until I moved the motor back to its proper position. Now I think it will work...we will see!

Here's the middle crossmember mocked up and cut up...

...and then I got to lookin at the front axle...OH CRAP!
    Bent to ALL HELL!

...so I guess I'll order a dropped axle from Speedway!

I decided to use the wide 5 drums and the wishbones. Maybe I can get some good out of it!

Thanks Fellers for the kind words...keeps me goin!

I helped a buddy straighten his 36 Ford pickup frame yesterday so I didnt get much done on the Roadster...but today I got back on the Roadster. I welded the front crossmember back in place...and tacked the middle crossmember in place. Just Boring crap...more to follow. Got a bunch of new parts ordered from Speedway...I'll be back! :D

    Hi...just me again!

I got to looking at the 36 axle and scratched my head!
The 40 that I have is shorter by a couple inches! I'm thinking the 36 axle is out of a truck...not sure. Any ideas!

    Heres the dims.

The 36 is 50 1/4" KP to KP...the 40 is 48" ...hum! You ever seen an axle that wide?

Damm...I need to clean my shop! Its pretty bad when the shop dog doesn't even want to hang out in your shop...he just nudged the door knob with his nose and wanted to go back out. (its 30 out there) :D

    ...K I'll clean up tomorrow!

The wide 5 spindles are the same length as the 40 so I am running with the 40 axle, spindles, backing plates and the wide 5 drums!

Here's the wide 5s on the 40 backing plates

...then I straighten the crossmember in my vise! Cheep China crap! Now I gotta get a new Vise!

...more to follow...after I clean up my shop! HaHa!

...so then I Tattooed the frame! :D

I decided to dedicate this build to my Mom! RIP Mom...love ya!

Tattoo on the side frame rail!

Then I did a little doodle on the cross member! Both done with a Dremel.

...also notice that I cut the top of the cross member so I have access to the torque tube coupler.

    ...more to follow...

    I'm liking this build!

For the rear end, if you're really going for the 'salt' look, how about a quick change?

Where at in Nebraska are you?

Yes, I have an extra QC, but it's 5x5, not wide 5. You'd need to change axles.

I grew up in Bridgport, not far from Scottsbluff. We'll have to catch up for a beer, as I go up often to see mom!
