To start I want to say I saw James Hetfield's Zephyr the other day and Rick did an amazing job! Very tasteful and timeless. With that being said , I was at the Goodguys show last summer and was admiring the V12 at H&H's booth. When I was asking them about the intake and heads they told me the were made by an individual that I won't name. When I asked if they were sure because I thought they were wrong they said no they were quite sure. The individual who really made the heads and intake is the former owner of Keerney Foundry named Jon Scrobel. Probably one of the most talented mold makers alive. Jon is the one who made the mold's for the new Ardun heads. You can talk to anyone who knows Lincoln V12's and they will tell you these are Jon's. I have a set of the heads straight out of the oven and an intake to match. You be the judge if you've seen the motor. I would just like to see Jon get a little acknowledgment since these are his pride and joy.

  2. ??????? If you are trying to call someone out, why beat around the bush? Just do it.

It definitely sucks to not get credit where credit is due.

And I've had a few adult beverages tonight and maybe I'm missing something. But it seems like you are saying someone is taking credit for producing these and not the original producer?

If someone is, you should let us know. I don't want to do business with someone who steals anothers work.

I would like to talk to the person rather than bash him before i hear his side or if he's even really claiming he designed them. I Just talked to the engine builder and would just like to see Jon get credit for his hard work and labor of love.I'm a shop owner and am not going to slam someone before hearing their side.

Not sure what H&H said but I will tell ya I put Rick in touch with Kearny foundry. That's Jon's shop. Jon is an awsome pattern maker. I gave him the option of the Hogan heads outs new Zealand as well those are the ones I'm running on my V12. So as far as I know those came from Jon's shop.

Did Jon make the molds and cast them, or did he do the whole project (including machining and marketing)? There's a lot more to building parts than just making the molds or pouring the aluminum.

I should know. I make my own molds, send them to a foundry for casting, then receive the raw parts for machining and finishing. I say I "built" them, even though I didn't do 100% of the work. Maybe Jon was hired by the guy who "built" the heads for his mold making and casting talents, but since he didn't own the product he doesn't deserve credit as the producer.

You mention Jon made the molds for the new Ardun heads. Now ask anybody who makes the new Ardun heads and you'll hear "Don Ferguson". Or maybe you'll even get more detail such as "Don Orosco began production and sold the line to Ferguson". All true, and I bet Jon isn't feeling sorry about the paycheck he got for his work.

    alchemy............well said!

While loyalty as expressed by the OP is a noble trait, it shouldn't be at the expense of overlooking the details or business arrangements that put the matter in it's proper context.

That really sucks. I got to know him a lil bit hope that is not true.

As far as Jon scobel he in fact manufactured and retailed the LZ heads and intake. He made those for himself and because of the need marketed them to the LZ club.

As far as the Ardun stuff he made that for Orosco who sold it to Fergusson. I hear that changes have been made to those over the years not sure who was responsible for the changes.

Jon is retired his son has taken over the foundry. Hope to see Jon at Turlock this weekend. It's sad he's another victim of altzheimers he's a very talented guy.
