Hello Carl Not so much damage to my old cover! But as i knew that there was a clearence issue, and there was shims between the flywheel and converter, we desided to approach this diffrently on the "Killer". We made a solid shim aproprx. 1/8" with the pilot for the converter in one pice. Mounted it between the crank and flywheel. So now we don't need other loose shims and should clear the oilgear cover!? We are running with a new type of starter(powermaster) or something, and last time we checked, it grabbed the flywheel more than anough! I can try to take some pictures by rhis weekend? Cool Kjell I've been looking at this but right at this minute the funds are short............ Did get the oil cover fixed though and back on, pan is on and gettin some color so shouldn't bee too long now, if I can get back in the garage, been doing some honeydo's today............
Kjell, I tried to trade hom out of that, but couldn't get it done- it's a nice Hilborn! Carl, it's looking great! I really like the crankcase scavenging idea- nice work!
It's been a while since I checked in. Wish I could contribute more than just appreciation for sharing your experience with NewB's like me!
No problem Dawg if someone gets anything out of this its worth it........ Today got a few things together.........
Looks good Carl. Is that what you are going to run at Eagle in May or will you have the blower mounted?
In May it will either be this one or the 4-2, the blower will have to wait for a while course if its a dog????????? who knows...........
Ryan, you can come help out at Bonneville. You're always welcome and I bet you could be part of the crew at Eagle if you wanted to drive that far. Looks good Carl! Can't wait to hear it run!
Thanks guys. I'm kinda stoked right now, if everything goes right I should fire this thing up thurs or friday...........
Thanks Tim, Buddy Mike and Tim its coming along nicely.... even got something in the mail yesterday.....an E bay find....another piece of the puzzle......
It looks great Carl! looking forward to friday, then to open a post with sound? Br Kjell .............................. Taildragger&fenderless
Tim its a Raycor/Oberg series 60 racing oil filter. Gotta have clean oil and its something I can check after every race ifn I want to.......
Well got the anode's in today had to drill a coupla holes into the pump cavity to allow the anode to go all the way in but since this is a race only block I don't care I could have made a spacer out of alum and welded it to the motormount but thats more weight. Now the anodes are easily replaceable..........
However after careful anaylsis and looking at what I have just done...oh shit I drilled into the exhaust cavity, damn plug it up and re do the anode. Oh well thats what you get when putting ass in gear before mind.........
LOL Carl- Don't sweat it at all.... If we didn't do that from time to time, something would probably be wrong! It'll be fine, and the set-up should work like a champ!
GEEZ Carl I always thought ass was first gear, and mind was second , Hmm, learn something new everyday Thanks Tim Jones
Well thursday went by and thanks to my brother in law we got a bunch done today, not enough to get her started but we are getting close: How ever the shop looks like shit........... but we r happy...
