Hugh Tucker started in 61 with a 400" Olds with 6 Strombergs. He then went to a blown 476 inch late Olds and a B&M Hydro later in 61. The hemi didn't go in until the winter of 65/66.

All the cars depicted represent a particular era that serves as the good ole days, based on your age. I am quite partial to the little Hemi powered Bantam myself.

The image has almost demonic overtones to it. Its not something Dunlop hasnt faced before thats for sure. Previous "baths" were no doubt expereinced with those old tin foil suits of long ago. Still better than an open faced helmit and Fonzi leather jacket!

Indeed small picture! I immediatley tried to Super Size that thing. Love the annodized Halibrands. Are those injectors protruding through the hood? Whose car was it originally? Looks a little like the old Clinton Clan.

  18. More info on the Anglia please. Also, some better pics

Slightly better picture up, with a second shot.

No, Not Garys (Clinton) car (later called "Pinocchio"), though we did race each other on several ocations, mostly at Orange County.
I don't recall who I bought it from...WAY too many years ago. I bought the car as a crashed basket case. Pretty rough. A new body, front axle, some more roll cage, straightened a few parts and a paint job later.

Engine - 365 small block Chevy with a single Holley. That's just a tall, skinny Formula 5000 scoop mounted to the carburetor.
It's a Britting chassis, simillar to, as I recall the Shores and Hess Anglia.

I mostly ran it at Irwindale, but we made plenty of laps at Orange County and Palmdale. In the last coupla years, it ran in the 9.80/9.90 area, on this side of the mountains.

The guy that bought it from me (after about 13 years), mostly ran Palmdale with the "Son of Kong" on the door, same paint. The scoop was also shortened. He put a mostly stock engine in the car...ran in the 11sec. bracket.

Nice assembly of many different cars. Very rare shot of Richard Schroder's wheelie car crash aftermath with his AMX. I like the 33 Willys panel too.

    Bucksnort,

Man, your pics ROCK! You officially OWN the name Bucksnortarama! Would make a great T-shirt!!!! I want one! Have at it! And thanks for the invitation! Hell, I might be there!

I started a little summer car get together a couple of years ago and now call it the Wayne Backfire. It was originally called the Wayne Weinerfest and the wives bitched and some of my less "confident" buddies were apparently a bit skittish and wanted a name change.

Seriously, thanks for taking the time to share your great pics!

Saw the "Carrot" once at Irwindale when they featured an injected A/FA circuit event. The "Carrot" was in the spirit of the Thurmond Bros.
