Any info on this one from #30714? Sure looks familiar, but not going to say anything until someone else identifies it. Tom S. in Tn.

  4. Mazooma, I thought I had seen most of the photos of my old neighbor, Mike Bamber's "Silver Dollar" pickup, but that's a new one to me...I tried for 20 years to get that car from him, when it sat in his barn on North Broadway in Escondido....no deal. I did manage to get a couple of Oval-window O/T cars out of him that had been sitting in his shop, Bamber Electric, back in about 2000-2001....

Someone else may have answered your question, but just in case:

Yes, it's a blown Offy, Ed Donovan partnered with Kent Fuller on this one, ran hard (maybe over 160, anyone else??), but kept breaking parts...and Donovan realized that he was selling Chrysler stuff and not Offy stuff, so he abandoned the project.

What's the story on the cab of this RPU? Looks like a cross between 29 and 30, but I don't think they match up like that.

Yep...that's my old car. Interesting, I heard it was up on e-bay a some time back..!? So this is where it ended up....New York..wow.?
The thing actually looks pretty good for sitting outside in the Palmdale (high desert) for a "few" years.

Of ALL...of the writing/printing on the car...the ONLY thing I put on the car was the "Turbo-400 by John Kilgore". Did your friend get the carburetor scoop with the car ?
As I recall, the guy that sold it to your friend didn't buy "my" engine when he bought the car, too bad. For an "old" build small block, it still woulda put out some decient power.

    WCD -
My Anglia (now the above Son of Kong!) was crashed at OCIR. The body was a dark blue metalic, no names, decals, stickers...nuthin on it. The front end was a VERY heavy, plain one piece with lotsa bondo from putting the front fender back on..! As was the panel right in front of the rear fender and door.
The rear fenders are the only body part kept from the original car I bought. And the fenders are old thick fiberglas.
I sold the body and front end to help pay for the new front end and doors.

    Mike

P.s. - swade41 - I assume your friend is gonna paint the car...I'd like to see it with its new paint on it...

Amen to that, Doug. Some of the best looking early drag cars I've seen in a while. I'd be happy with any one of them, especially the '56 Chevy. the other Doug

Texas Shark car belonged to Don Neal. The engine belonged to me, Charlie Smith &
Dan Evans...all from the Dallas area. Car was Fuller chassis/Arnie Roberts body like the others in CA. Pretty car...wish I knew where it was now.

  25. Roller starter rig. See the driveshaft coming out of the end of the transmission and going to the rollers on the right?
