I met an Aussie - Al - as we admired a 1940 Willys woodie (real one) at cruise night a few years back and as we were chatting he mentioned that he had a rare 1940 Willys - a ute. He sent me these photos and although I ended up buying one, it was not this one....

Whooa,Mick finally painted her eh. she came out goorgeous. That man pieced that baby together from a battered dirt track racer"Yeah I still cringe at the thought of a Willys coupe being turned into one"

I should ask Mick for some before and after pics of his coupe, yes he has done a wonderful job as it was an old dirt track car and now its top shelf!

Old photos my dad took in Waseca MN, probably late 70's-early 80's. Anyone know where it is now?

While I saw this car plenty of times while in the guise of a BB/GS, I never witnessed it in its return to the street. Very nice. But it still cant compete with the image of it skirtting down the track, blown hemi screaming and then the chute deploying.

You can tell the Mallicoats are attending an AHRA event as the AHRA elected to use the nomenclature of MG="modified gas" instead of the NHRA's GS="gas superchraded." FYI nothing more.

The World's Fastest Indian (2005) movie, when the man is looking for a car to buy in a U.S.A. used car lot a 1940 or 1941 Willys coupe is in the background, (looked preaty good to me) if you look hard and fast, or rent it and when you find it you slow it down and check it out. I don't have that kind of equipment. Just adding a little Willys hunting for ya's.
