    Phil,
I got crazy and fabbed my own rocker panels from 18 ga. steel. The narrow end goes toward the rear though. Before I got it bent to shape, I wished I had ordered from Ebay. LOL

  3. Thanks Jack, I might try and get these in before the show in March but maybe I'll wait.

Yeah, it had a bit of rust under the fiberglas mat. Really not too bad though. Could have been much worse. I'm going to make some 3/8 inch thick U channels to go between the frame and the floor to keep it solid. I figured it was a good time to replace the floors for more value later on. Having fun!

the inner rockers were easy to make the outer ones you are better of to buy but even then still need allot of tweeking, the body mounts talk a bit of time to make.

I got my V sub rockers from Kaiser Bill. They are heavier gauge than some sell and don't have the galvanized coating, that I don't like welding. I got my new outer rockers with the car but I think they came from Kaiser Bill as well.

Well, I got the driver's side floor pan in today. Had to piece it to save buying another sheet of metal. Worked out ok. I gotta get an old man's hobby like crocheting little doilies or something. LOL

    Thanks Clik,
Ready to get the 9 inch rear end under it. I'll feel better when it's rolling again.

    Swade,
I spent a little time today thinking on the rear wheel openings and decided to use your idea of cutting out the body molding and welding in a small piece of new steel. That ridge don't beat out very easy.

  13. No it doesn't, I tried to hammer, dolly, shrink and in the end just cut it out....lol
Your progress is looking good but you better save some energy for the kids. I know I feel pretty old when I come in from the garage and my 7 year old doesn't want to hear it.

    Swade,
Your as handy as a pocket on a T shirt!. I used your idea of cutting out the body moldings and then using the 3/8 tubing for the wheel well. worked out great. Now for a little body filler. Thanks for the ideas. keep 'em coming.

well, I got the transmission hump in. Not a thing of great beauty but it covers up a yaping gap! The firewall is also boxed in so I'm getting closer.

I think I will get a commercial sandblaster to hit the firewall, frame, and inside the car. Then I can do the seam sealing and be ready for primer and paint. Thinking Midnight Purple Pearl. Gonna do a 8 point roll cage using 2 inch .134 tubing.

Man! If these aren't time lapsed photos you are a real get'r done dude. I bet you have two Expresso machines in the garage no TV in the house and a real big nasty wife that you avoid like the plague :D.

Me? I can't get anything done. Too busy baby sitting a dozen employees who each need their fragile egos stroked constantly. What happened to real men?

    Hey Clik,
At my age, there no time to lose. LOL Actually, my wife's a real sweetheart but she's in the hospital now. She has a really hard time with depression. We don't know what causes it but it hits occasionally. I have my 17, 15, and 12 year old daughters babysitting my 4 year old daughter so I get a bit of extra shop time. When I'm working on my car, I guess I get a bit intense. I'm ready to see some front wheels bouncing.

Mine has a 2x4 frame stub, and a 54 chevy truck front axle. the steering is-unique, to clear the big block mopar starter, but is a vega box. I have 30 inch ladders, with coilovers at the rear, but if you can find one, a 57-59 ford car 9 inch bolts to the stock springs[IMG]

    Jack,

Four daughters and a hyper Henry J nut. Gee, I wonder why she gets depressed.

    Eric,

I like those headers. They are wild lookin'.

I went to the shop today and fixed more rust. I shoulda held out for a more solid car, but it'll be right when I'm done. No concourse resto but I won't build a Bondo Bandit either.

You do have a point there. LOL Eric, I'm getting ready to weld up a set of headers for mine. May have to ask advice.

Finished up the last rocker panel and got started on the rear rollpan. Coming along ok. Got to put a length of tubing along the bottom to stiffen it up a bit.

Mines a no trunk model too. The area at the top of where you attached you pan was pretty rusted on mine, so, I put a piece of flat strap behind it and piece on the outside where the shell tucks in. I don't think I'm going to fab a roll pan. maybe make some transition from the fenders or tuck a small bumper in there. I haven't deceided yet. To much rust gets to the brain. I worked on the Henry's floor a little today but was side tracked trying to clean up a Boss Hoss I'm trying to sell.

Boss Hoss HUh? Can't imagine riding a SBC motorcycle. LOL My car was rusted off from the mounts at the rear. It would have been fairly easy to just weld in some sheet metal to turn in to the mounts but I wanted to cover up the rear frame. I still have to replace the bottom of the passenger door. It's rusted pretty bad too.
