Ok - Just picked up a 30 sedan. Just got my frame, Ford nine inch, 56 inches wide mounting serface to mounting surface, ladder bar with coil overs. Gonna build a full fender car....... There's alot of wheel and tire threads on the HAMB......BUT............ Question is - what would YOU do for a wheel and tire combo. Can you please tell/show me what you have - wheel, size, back space,.....tire - bias or radial? Here's the sedan, thanks for your input.
If it were me, I would find some 1935 (I think) Ford 16 inch wire wheels to replace those 19 inchers you have.Put a little smaller profile on the front than on the rear and that will give it a little bit of a stance.
Yep, I agree with what he said, stick with black wall, run 16" with smaller up front. run say a 600 up front and a 700 in the rear. Run bias ply if you want that look. I think I am running a 600 up front and a 750 in the rear, but I am running solid steel 16x4 rims on mine.
I'm putting the body on a new frame. Bolt pattern is 5 on 41/2. Looking to something like these..............
Well, honestly, the only thing I would do is pick wheels for MY car, and then it would be chrome rims and baby Moons. But, really, it is your car-what do you want to do?
Exactly, Build it to suit yourself as far as the type of wheels and tires go. It might be different if you are building it to sell than you want what everyone else is in love with on it. If you are asking what size and spacing to get the right stance and look now we have something going and the guys have given some good ideas there. I like he 35 Ford style wires but they are like bellybuttons here on the HAMB almost everyone runs them.
<--thats mine, not sure if your interested in a radial tire set up or not, if so Pm me and let me know I cant give you a better pic yet, the HAMB is having issues with picture albums
I love the 16" spokes but keep in mind they had a special drum to support the bell of the wheel that other drums didn't. You can now buy the support adapter from Sacramento Vintage Ford and I think Speedway also sells it to run 35 16" spokes on any drum. Me personally I think you can never go wrong with steelies and a cool cap or chrome lugnuts. But hey do what ya want because you want to.
