Ahhhh living in a quenset hut, them were the days!

If you ever come across "Junk stocks and bonds or "trash stocks and bonds" what ever you want to call them don't take it for granted they "ARE Worthless" Many times the company named on the bond no longer exists because it was bought or merged or was just eaten up by another company. Several years ago I had an article in one of my history related publications of an accountant that bought a big box of trash bonds at an auction ,She bought them for something like 25$ for the box her intention was to use them as wall paper in her new office infact she had just started glueing them up when a friend of hers that worked in some form of stocks bond research at a bank asked her to hold off till she could check them out, Well it turned out that the lady paid 25$ for several million dollars of good bonds! Several of the dead rail road bonds were currently owned by modern rail lines which had absorbed a number of the little older lines. A more modern example of this is a personal friend that owned stock in American Motors when it went bankrupt AMC stock was cheap he had something like 50$ he would loose if he held them, Well he was very much into Javelins and other AM high performene cars and he decided to keep his stocks just for the sake of having them last I knew he owned stock in Chrysler and now I guess Mercedes!His worthless stock went from 50$ to several thousand.
