You can send that my way! I snowmobile and have only been out 3 times. Had to do a trip up the MI upper peninsula during new years. Had a storm come though and dropped 18", needless to say I was a very happy boy for the rest of the trip lol

Ok back on topic, sorry lol

    Merritt,

Up here in WA. state a couple weeks ago we had 14" of snow and then freezing rain on top of that. At one point 250k people without power. We were out for 4 days living on generator power and a wood stove. Some people were 10 days with no power. I have several 150' fir trees and the branches sounded like shot guns going off when they broke. I started the clean up this weekend. No working on cars for me. Yard work. CA. sounds pretty good right now. Brian

Say if I was to use a shoe polish to put a name on my car, I have a cool one picked out, is that something they did back in the olden days? Like with a Stock or S/S class, Joe Schmo that took his everyday car to the track on the weekends.

This is still gonna be my daily on nice days but I wanna look a lil professional-ish when I do the vintage drag racing events in my area, short painting it on so its permanent.

  9. Rarely post here but looking at the Colorado weather this past few days make me glad I wasn't visiting family there Auroura, Parker, Castle Rock & Durango. It's been in the 50-65 range here in SW Oregon every day & we don't have to pay Calif. prices & taxes.

Good thing I'm retired & don't have to look for work though!!!!!.

BTW Started a thread about a FE in my 60 Vette & not too well received on HAMB so far -- but I've got 11 FE's & 12 different intake combo's so not to worry.

movin-on;the scrub guys get all butt hurt when you put a Ford engine in a scrub, but think nothing of going the other way!!! At a local car show here a couple years ago,a guy had a nicely built 68 camarhoe, with a turbo charged Boss 302/5 speed in it,should have heard the crying!!!! I thought some were going to have a stroke or heart attack!!!!!!He said he had built the engine and was looking for an early Fox body Muscrat, found the scrub almost finished as a roller. How about the dude that kept showing up on Pinks with the big Ford powered camarhoe,he won the last Pinks Show, ever, at Firebird Raceway,I was there and laughed SO hard at all the scrub guys!!!! Dale, my wealth would be severly compromised by the cost of the stamp, so give me a little time, to find a few more dollars!

The paint on the Altered Ego car is so bitchin!! I think they nailed the look with their measurements for moving the wheelbase around! It took them awhile, but the end result was worth it in my opinion.

It makes me soooo much want to go and grab another Comet I found, to start my roadster project. But- I've made a promise to finish the two other altered projects before a new start!!! Awful hard though!!

An off day. Time to go out and set- up the new traction bars!!! Rains coming!!

Roy, your a real pal!! Although my diet has become much more fond of Carl's Junior, and Waffle House, I like the idea of warmer climates much more..... Just not the liberal ideas, CA, sometimes abuses!

You need to try this forum for your FE fix. http://www.network54.com/Forum/74182/

Not sure how well the Vette will go over but better than the other way around. Can't stand a Chevy engine in a Ford body.

They did use shoe polish on their cars some back in the old days but if you are not carefull it will leave a mark in the paint that won't wash off. I hate to steal a photo but this is Phil Bonner at Yellow River in 1961, sorry I don't know the photographer's name to give credit.

I thought the flames were horrible. The design itself is decent but it just doesnt belong on that car.

Well, if you are retired (don't have to depend on a local job for income) then western NV is the place to move. Highest foreclosure rate in the country (plenty of choices), low property prices (about .30 - .40 on the dollar) and an easy tow to most of the CA tracks without all the congested traffic. Win, win, win & no snow.

Dale;there you go!!! I know someone looking for that window trim, probably get some of your money back!!! The "Rocket 2",you would need a leather helmet and leather goggles and a scarf!!! Mike;one problem with NV is most of those foreclosures are in developements with the homes on top of each other, that and 120+ in the summer and 30s-40s in the winter!Las Vegas does have an AWESOME drag strip though!Oh Yea,they do get snow, just not as bad as Colorado!!ROY.

Heres some pics of a Comet were building up here in Washington. Started to build a 427 66 fairlane then changed and went with a comet. Always loved the Chrisman Comet and so
decided to go with one that will somewhat resemble it.
Heres the body mockup, We took 5" right out of the center of the car, moved up the rear at the door jam 4" chopped the top 1" and cut out the front fender wheelwells and installed them in the rear. This is My Sons car He did 98% of the fab and welding Himself. I help when I can. This should be one wild comet.
