Will a GMC straight 6 intake manifold work on a chevy straight 6 engine?

If any, what are the differences?

No, the ports and spacing are not the same. The GMC six series of engines are different than any of the Chevy inline sixes.

...but if you've got an aftermarket intake for a GMC, you can probably sell it for more than you'll have to pay for one for a Chevy.

If its a Howard or McGurk log type intake for a GMC, you can build your own elbows and make it work. Whatever you do.... Don't cut it up. Like mentioned above, the Jimmy intakes are worth ALOT more than the Chevrolet stuff. If you don't want to custom build the elbows, just post it for sale and you can buy any Chevy intake you want with what it will bring.

If you do plan to sell this go to: www.inliners.org and use their Swap Meet section. It will sell quickly on that site.

I put a 1956 235 Chevy motor in a 51 GMC. The front motor mount had to be extended because the 235 Chevy block was shorter than the original GMC block.

  7. Jimmy motors were actually better than the Chevy, more torque..........
