I've noticed this thread has already got over 100,000 views, WOW! (a few thousand are probably mine from reading/answering the replies and questions.) Nonetheless, this is a nice opportunity to thank everyone, especially the die hard followers, for their suggestions, comments, thoughts and compliments. I must agree. I really enjoy your builds. It give us, punk ass kids building cars, alittle inspiration and motivation to do our best and always try to come up with something alittle different. Keep up the great work.

 

I had a slice of good fortune last week I had ordered a 8/71 blower kit from the states but this has taken longer than expected
Meanwhile i was offered a complete Weiand 8/71 small block chevy kit for considarably less so i just altered my order to not have the blower.
Anyway i took the plunge and got it, I have to make a longer snout but its only a bit of work so don't mind considering i saved over $1500
More good news today when i got an email saying my intake was on its way to my shippers and would be here next thursday

Yes mate its gonna run real strong i hope, I'm aiming for mid to low 10's which i will need in the region of 650-700bhp, with the 5% current setup i should have 800-850bhp according to MTS Cadillac who supply my parts, a little increase in boost should get me a bit more should i need it.

That thing is going to be super bad. I really like that you are posting a build thread for a fiberglass car. I have been wondering how you would go about working with fiberglass, it is cool to know, and with your work, I wouldn't be afraid to copy it because your shit is killer!

I guess your plan to keep this one simple REALLY went out the window with this latest purchase, huh, Steve. Man, that thing is PRETTY. I bet your Willys will be a blast to drive with all that hp.

What rear end are you running, Steve? Ratio? If you posted it I missed that.

I hope so Don, this project is getting way out of hand
I have 2 third members, one has a spool with 3.75's and the other is a LSD with 4.11's, The cadillac is a torque monster so i can run a little extra gearing i reckon.

 

Yep, with a slippery convertor the higher ratio might work out better. You will have no shortage of torque. Can't wait to see the video of this one running.

We went to a car show last Saturday and there was a 40 Willys there. Had an aluminum BBC in it with blower and man was it shoehorned in there. It looked like the engine had to come out to change plugs or maybe he pulls the front end off. Also had a really small aluminum radiator, almost looked like there was none until you looked down in the front, so not sure how he cools it. But the car was nice.
