Holy shit Andy! That thing looks amazing!

  9. Looking so good Andy. Can't wait till you chop that bitch! You have no excuse like some of us who can't chop primo originals(not me), whack it good!

It's so funny to get excited for people when you see they have a 34. It's that car you dream of and then someday somehow own? Makes you want to do a 34 dance sometimes, well maybe all the time.

    Can't wait for chop pics!

I cant believe how much work you have accomplished in such a short time ,and it looks great! At this rate you will have it roadworthy before the snow is gone :D

Got the other quarter welded up,

the top is a friggin wreck though... ugh, I think I can use one of the beat up front fenders to fix it though, I dragged one out of the shed and had a look today... It might work, we'll see.

Everything seems to fit pretty nice though, this probably seems redundant at this point but I'm just thrilled.

    yech... you can have it!

I'm gonna leave the holes on one side as a clue to the car's origin, haha!

They're from the stock car back half I grabbed from Ftroopwillys, although I didn't use much of the sheet metal, it was handy to have for measurements.

Thanks John, how's that T roadster coming? Gonna have it at latimore?

It's gonna be a helluva chop Mel, don't worry! Sometime soon, like next week maybe?

Thanks man, I sure hope so, but I doubt it.

  14. Andy your posting so many updates, it seems like this thread is always on the first page! Great man! Pretty cool that's its coming together so fast. Can't wait for the chop.

I hope to have it there. Pretty much on the home stretch. Waiting until my spring break in 3 weeks. Ill take the body to a buddys shop and paint it. So it shouldn't be much longer.

Four door b pillars are wider than coupe ones to accomodate the dovetails and latchplates for the rear doors. Well I thought I'd just leave them, what's the harm? Well, if you want your quarter-window garnish moldings to fit, they need to be changed out for 5w pillars or narrowed. I narrowed mine from the middle hinge up...

    5w wood vs 4dr wood...

Sliced off the back section of the rear door c pillars.

Mated them to the narrowed B pillars.

    Done!

It is sort of intriguing... but I think this car is gonna be a little too raw to really pull that off. Plus I want it REALLY chopped, which would probably not help the aesthetics of the cloth top. And I spent a bunch of time smoothing out the crinkled top on this thing already, hahaha! Steel top it is.

I picked up a sheet of 18ga to do the floor with today, man that stuff is getting spendy!
