From a reply a few pages back. My hometown. The island is still there, a little run down but you can picture what the park once was. Also, the "sex rocks" are about 100yds behind the photographer LOL :p

Yes, from the Andy Griffith show.
Sponsored by Ford, I beleive the Corvair hit the bicyclist.
Can't have your sponsor's car do anything bad now.

I don't know if any one else has noticed if they have this issue of R&C. I have two copies, one has the slick pages inside and the other has the rough paper pages like the like the 68-69 R&C issues. Two different kinds of paper in the same issue. I wonder what was up with that. See which kind you have.

I was getting ready to ask the same question.

I was also wondering how long it took to scan all those covers in.

And my last question is to see if someone knows when the last "small pages" issue of R & C was published. I have most of these magazines up until I got married in 1959 but was losing interest in the ones that seemed to be having more go-kart articles each month.

Tony Nancy is another name that also appears multiple times, and rightfully so. He really had a number of accomplishments.

Cars like this were just exhibition racers... like wheelstanders and jet cars. Good money, a crowd draw. Gary

I don't think those posts are as well-informed as the info I garnered from the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg club. To recap, built by a company that made Cord parts, was used in Baltimore. I can see the case for it being a humpback with an International roof. Also, someone penned the headlight outlines onto the photo and you can see the real outlines on close examination. The front wheels are Cord wheels, not Chevy.
Grahams and Hupmobiles that used the Cord body dies did not retain the coffin nose or the Cord FWD setup and do not look like this.

This is the kinda girl I warn my boys about... one mistake and there will be little babies running around looking for their 17 year old Daddy!;)

  30. I believe the last Rod & Custom "small pages" was July 1961.
