    I re-assembled the steering box and mocked the cowl steering up...

    This will be the ride height...well gotta get the wheels blasted and new tires! Then we will see the true ride height!

    You might be right...I have about an inch from the frame to the leaf.

    My brother wants to try an axle drop set up in his press...gotta do the Guinea pig axle first before I do mine! :D

    The Z will probably be about 6"...not sure yet...gotta get my rear end over here next!

    That one is in my Dads collection...has a mini Hemi in it. Maybe someday Ill get that in the garage after I get all my other stuff on the road! So that means probably never! :D

    ...little update!

    The Wide fives dont look like they are gonna work...drums run into the backing plates...so I put the original 5 on 5 drums. Fit perfect! So maybe a change in plans until I figure this out.

    Got the steering kinda figured out...well maybe! Had to bend the pitman arm out to clear the frame (still not at the right location but...)

    ...oh and I can actually turn the front drums with the steering box! WooHoo! :D

    Update...

    I decided to run with a Heim joint for the pitman arm. I also cut a gusset for the steering box...still in mock up stage!

    Once I rolled the 40 rear end under the A frame here is where the Torque tube ended up! Yes that is the oil pan!

    ...aint gonna work!

    So I blew it apart and got the cut off wheel out!

    ...as you can see the shaft is almost 3 feet too long...so to the Machine shop I will go!

    ...the 2 x 4 on the frame is the Vroom seat! :D

    ...do ya like my steering wheel? Its a Model A wheel. It had the center plastic gone so I fixed it! HaHa

    ...a few speed holes and its good to go! :D Na just kiddin Im gonna run with a banjo wheel but this works for the mock up!

    BTW the wheel turns the front hubs with one finger!

    Funny...my day job Im kinda building the same thing...except this 28 is sitting on a 32 frame.

    ...so I go home after work and duplicate everything I did that day! Lord I need to go to Walmart and get a life! :D

    ...more to follow...cant wait to get the body here, I need it so I can see if things are gonna line up before I can weld everything solid! If we have good weather maybe I can rescue it this weekend...
