The Heads never really preformed as well as most would have liked them to but this was back in the era were there was a lot of experimenting going on.
The following photos and do***entation is from the George Riley book. the chapter on the overhead V8 conversion.

We have made some progress on the roadster getting the intake built and generator mounted on the car we are working on completing the headers now.

Doesn't Don Orosco run this motor in his roadster as well?

  6. I know of 3 SOHC Riley's that exist & I've seen the 3rd while I was in the States.

    Speedway Museum has one
Don Orosco had one for sale for $65,000. I'm not sure if it sold.
    & the 3rd engine I saw.

Great! Thanks for the info Rex. I lost track of this thread.

  7. Yes, he has one in his '32.

Rex, thanks for the history lesson on the Riley. They might not perform as well as the Ardun but they sure looks great on the motor.

It may not run as good as expected but what a conversation piece. I give it thumbs up.

That must be one heck of a Riley book when the Amazon lowest price used is $484, the other is $500, also used

Pulled the body off and getting parts ready for the chrome shop. and a few things to finish up on the frame, We wanted to add an x brace to the car and the set up from Industrial Ch***is worked out slick a great part that fits the stock 32 frame Russ our frame fabricator modified the braces a bit we wanted to leave the master cylinder set up alone. a little more work to get the front K member legs installed and the plan is to rivet the parts in, and build the exhaust system, before we blow it apart for paint

The Body color will be black and the drive train and accent colors will be a dark green. Russ spent the week building the exhaughst and finishing up a few items on the frame. we are working on stripping the frame down and prepping all the parts for the chrome shop. we still have to go back and put in a few rivits in the K member and afew other areas on the car but then the ch***is will be ready to go. I will take some good shots of the motor once we pull it out of the car and start going over it.

Th roadster is going back together we are going through the motor, and the chrome parts are back and everything is painted. It is good to see that this car is finally going to be finished an extremely long build From when Ray B***o first started the car till now, but worth the wait.
