Well I kept telling myself I wouldn't jump the gun and post about my new project until I had more pics to share but I just can't wait any longer so here goes...

So I finally finished my '31 Model a coupe just in time to drive away from my wedding last April and after putting some miles on it the last year or so and achieving my goal of having it in the Suede Palace at the GNRS last month, I think it's time to send it down the road. Sold the car to my new friend Jacek of the Rumblers Car Club in Germany and next week it will begin it's voyage over the pond.

About the same time I posted the coupe on the HAMB I found a smokin deal on a beautiful 1936 Ford 5-window coupe on Craigslist. The car was up in Northern California so luckily my brother was kind enough to go and check it out for me. He gave the thumbs up and last week I hopped on a flight to San Jose and struck a deal. I've been on cloud nine the last few days, never thought in a million years I would have the opportunity to own such an amazing car!

So the story is the car was partially restored by an older gentleman in the Bay area and two years ago the guy I bought it from purchased it and finished the majority of the work. The car is about 85% done and is restored to 100% stock. Basically everything on the car is new or rebuilt, rebuilt stock '36 drivetrain, all rebuilt suspension and mechanical brakes, new glass, seals, chrome, pretty much everything is done but the paint, which is still in decent shape.

So the plan for this one is pretty simple:

    - Juice brakes and a '39 Pedal Assembly.
    - 4 inch dropped axle and reversed spring eyes front and rear.
    - '40 Ford wheels with 5.50x16 and 7.00x16 inch Firestone Whitewalls.

Aside from that I plan to keep the car pretty much stock. Seeing as the little '36 Flathead is all rebuild and running strong I'm gonna run it for a while and when I'm itching for more power build a later model flathead and '39 trans for it. But for now, it's 85 horsepower for me!

The car is still up North at my brothers house in San Jose and will be for a month or so but once I get it down here and get to work on it, I'll post some more pics.

Hey and I looked into renting a Uhaul trailer one way from San Jose to Costa Mesa and it was only like $100. I figure why tow an empty trailer all the way up there and waste the gas.

36 Fords are so lame. Besides we already have enough of them in Costa Mesa.

Nice! Looks great and sounds like a good plan. Only thing I would do different is to run the wide-fives instead of 40 wheels... Either way, it'll be a slick little coupe.

  14. It's not that bad, if you rent it from here they can't screw up your reservation.

Your call bro. Tell me when and where.

  16. . What he said.....Also, there are better ways to go than cutting the frame to use the 39 pedals.....I used my orig. pedals with the Richard Lacy kit....Clean and simple
