That's kinda of my goal...I went to a small town show last year, out of less than 100 cars, there were 2 red and white 55's. There's at least one red and white 55 at every show I attend, and most of them are pretty small.

Do you have a similar picture but with no shadows on the back of the car? The side shot will work best if the whole car is visible.

oh, er, no, of course not, its just a photochop, of a random idea, nothing more... anyway, i cannot do anything on any car, at this point of my life, no need to worry :D

only post more of my knowledge lacking chops and ugly ideas

Is this what you're looking for? They are a little crude but you get the idea.

I think just a couple shades lighter on the scallops look nice

  10. Medium, more pastel orange...? Are you thinking something like the coral color that was used some cars of this era?

A friend gave me some paint, it's not the 1955 coral color, but it's not a bright orange either....I'd guess that if you mixed hugger orange and the coral color 50/50, it'd be close. Like non-metallic, pale cheese whiz....:D It's kind of an odd color, but I think with the right combination, it would look very nice.

    Corally-orangey-cheese-whizzy, huh? :p

I had a hard enough time with pastel orange - it looked good at home, but when I posted, it came out reddish - just the color you wanted to avoid!

Anyway, I love the coral colors from the mid-fifties and have given some thought to using those tones myself on a future project.

So I have an idea for two-toning your car. Look for some of the metallic grays from BMW, Mercedes, and others in the nineties. They run from pale pewters, through charcoal, to near-black. They go from micro-flake to almost bass-boat-metalflake! But they can really make a coral color pop.

If you want to go with an off-white: in the nineties, Lincoln had a pearl off-white with gold undertones. Very "kustom" looking and might go with your color.

But in either case - spray some test panels and look at them in daylight before doing the whole car!

Respectful re-request. Quick-and-dirty would be fine. Thanks.

Do you mean all the colors on one car, or one car in each color?

No problem. I also think it looks better with the top the same color as the body.

Hoping someone may be able to help. I need some inspiration. I'm planning to start looking for Volvo PV towards the end of the year. Not everyones taste but there you go, i really like them. I'm not planning on doing too much to one, mostly lower it, few mods here and there and hop-up the motor a little. Very mild custom or sorts.

I after dropping the car in the picture in two different ways. I'd like to see it lowered all round about 2 1/2" - 3" and also about 2 1/2" but 3" at the back. Slight tail drag.

I think i know which will be better but need to see it.

    Any help is much appreciated

    Regards Dan
